Preliminary Notification
(Un de r Section 11(1) of the Act - 30/2013)
No. RDA.9/2015/24: Where as it appears to the government of Meghalaya th at a total
of 1,11 ,486 .60 Square Meters lan d is required in Nongkynjang, Nonglwai and Mawpon
villages of Nongstoin Sub Division of West Khasi Hills District, for public purpose ,
namely, Up gradation of 2 -lane of Nongstoin - Dom ia s ia t via Wahkaji road (Portion
(10 th to 15 th KM) as per boundaries described in the schedule attached.
Social Impact Assessment Study was exempted by th e Government under section lOA
of the said act as amended by the ordinance , 2014.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) is appointed as Administrator for the
purpose of rehabilitation and resettlement of the affected families .
Therefore , it is notified that for the above said project in Nongkynjang, Nonglwai and
Mawpon villages of Nongstoin Su b Divis ion of West Khasi Hills District, a piece of land
measuring more or less 1,11,486 .60 Square Meters whose detail description is given in
Schedule to this notification, is under acquisition.
This notification is made under the p r ovision s of section 11 (1) of The Right to Fair
Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition , Rehabilitation and Resettlement
Act , 2013 (Act No. 30/2013), to al l whom it may concern.
A plan of the land may be inspected in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, West
Khasi Hills District on any working day . The appropriate government is pleased to
authorize the Dep u ty Co mmissioner and his s taff t o enter upon and survey land, take
levels of any land, dig or bore into th e sub-soil & do all oth er acts required for the
proper execu tion of their work as provided and specified in section 12 of the said Act.
Under Section 11(4) of the Act, no p er s on shall make any transaction or cause any
transaction of land i.e. sale/purchase, s pecified in the preliminary notification or
create any encumbrances on such land from the date of publication of such
n otifi cation without prior approval of the District Coll ector.
The obj ections to the acquisition, if any, may be filed by the person interested within
60 (sixty) days from the date of the pu blication as provided under section 15 of the
said act before the District Collector, West Khasi Hills District.
