Julie Hill Founder and Owner The Hill Company Julie Hill is a Non Executive Director of Wellpoint, Inc., an $80 billion, NYSE listed, Fortune 50 US Healthcare group (the largest U.S. healthcare company by member), having joined the Board in 1994 at the time of its Initial Public Offering at a market capitalization of $2 billion. She is also an Independent Board Member of The Lord Abbett Family of Funds, a $150 billion US Mutual Fund group, and a Non Executive Director of Lend Lease, a $7 billion international development, investment construction and property management company, publicly listed on the Sydney Stock Exchange. She has served on, or been Chair of, their respective Sustainability, Governance, Nominations, Compensation and Audit Committees, and is the Board lead on innovation and diversity issues at two of the companies. Julie was previously a Non Executive Director of Resources Connection Inc., a $2 billion, NASDAQ listed professional services firm, and of Holcim US, the US subsidiary of Holcim Limited, one of the world’s largest cement groups, publicly listed in Switzerland. Julie founded Hiram-Hill Development, a home building and land development company based in Newport Beach, California, in 1998, which she sold in 2003. From 1991-1998, she was President and CEO of Costain Homes Inc., the US homebuilding division of the London quoted Costain Group PLC. She was previously Vice President and General Manager with Mobil Land Development Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia. Julie is active in numerous philanthropic endeavors. She is past Chair of the Board of Directors of Human Options, a shelter for abused women and children, serves on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Community Foundation and is a member of the International Women’s Forum and the Women’s Leadership Board of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. Julie is a member and former Chair of the Board of Directors of the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine and has been a Board Member of Chapman University. In 1996, she received the Amelia Earhart Award from the Women’s Opportunities Center, and is a recipient of the Elizabeth Dole “Glass Ceiling” Award from the American Red Cross. At UCI she is currently on the boards of the schools of Law, Medicine, Social Ecology and is a Trustee of the University of California at Irvine Foundation. Julie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from UCLA, and a Master’s degree in marketing from the University of Georgia. She lives with her family in Newport Coast, California and London, England.
