TUESDAY, JUNE 23 AND 30- HAPPY HOUR - MARIACHIS IN MILLSTADT
Hey, great weather for a happy hour at our new location, so meet us at 5 p.m. or after at Mariachis,
717 W. Washington, Millstadt. We will be there relaxing and visiting with friends!
TUESDAY, JUNE 23- FAIRMONT RACE TRACK
Do you want to have lunch, watch the horses run and maybe make a bet or two? If your answer is
YES, join us as we will be going to Fairmont Race Track. The delicious lunch cost $13.00. Gates open
at 11 AM and food is served from 11:30 to 2:30PM. Our sponsor made reservations for 18 so if you
want to go call and let her know you will be attending.
THURSDAY, JUNE 25 – HAPPY HOUR - OLYMPIKA BAR & GRILL IN SWANSEA
Meet up with your friends at our new Thursday Happy Hour location! We will be at the Olympika
(formerly the location of Joe Boccardi’s.), 127 N. Belt E. in Swansea, starting at 5pm for socializing
and enjoying delicious food.
FRIDAY, JUNE 26- GOURMET GALLIVANT- GOOD OL DAYS IN NEW BADEN
Let’s take a little trip to the city of New Baden to the Good Ol Day’s at 5. East Hanover St. for some
good old classic cooking! We’ll order off the menu which has lots of different fresh salads, choices of
smoked or grilled BBQ, delicious fried chicken, all kinds of sandwiches and yummy dinners. The
prices are very reasonable. We will meet there at 5:30pm as they close at 8pm. Please call our
sponsor by June 21st so he can have an attendance count for the restaurant.

SATURDAY-JULY 4- GATEWAY GRIZZLIES GAME FOLLOWED BY FIREWORKS
AT THE BALLPARK
Want to go to the Gateway Grizzlie’s ballgame on Saturday, July 4th? The game starts at 6:35pm.
After the game, there will be beautiful fireworks and other activities to make this a really special
celebration day.
Our sponsor, Peggy reserved a block of 20 seats in Section 114 which is behind home plate. You
can go to the ballpark to pay or put the tickets on your credit card and then pick them up on the day
of the game.
Either way, you must call the box office @618-337-3000 ext. 15 and ask to speak to James to
request tickets. If you pay in advance, the cost is $ 12.00. Tickets are normally $15.00. The first 20
tickets that are paid will be in Peggy’s reserved block. Don’t wait, call now before sellout!
Call Peggy to let her know if you are going and you were able to get one of the 20 tickets she
reserved. If tickets are sold out in Peggy’s Block, please try to get you tickets as close to her block as
possible so we can all celebrate at the ballpark together!

FRIDAY, JULY 10– MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING
Our monthly membership meeting will be held at the American Legion Post 137, 109 N. Penn St.,
O’Fallon, on July 10th starting at 7:00pm. It will be held on the 2nd Friday of July as the 1st Friday of the
month falls on the 4th of July Holiday weekend.
JULY 16-25- BRANSON GETAWAY TRIP
What’s summer without a trip to Branson? This is your chance to go with your MESS friends which
will make the trip even more fun! The dates are flexible but planning on a four day trip. We love the
76 Country Boulevard lined with theaters, which once hosted mostly country music performers but
today presents diverse entertainment. Also, along the strip are Silver Dollar City, a 1800s-themed
amusement park with live music, the landmark Marvel Cave and Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede
dinner theater. Of course, there are way more fun things to do besides what is listed here.
If you want to go or have questions, call our sponsor. She will make all the arrangements for where
we decide to go once we lock in a confirmed date acceptable to the majority of folks wanting to take
this fun trip!
SATURDAY, JULY 18– JOSEPHINE’S TEA ROOMS AND GIFT SHOPS
Interested in going to Josephine's Tea Rooms & Gifts Shops with us? It opened in 1979 at 6109
Godfrey Rd. in Godfrey, Illinois which is a historic river town on the bluffs located only four miles
north of Alton. We will order from their luncheon & dessert menu and dine in their historic
mansion with landscaped gardens. The desserts are handmade each and every morning. They have
a wide variety of menu selections and delicious cakes, cheesecakes, pies, cobblers, and tarts for
dessert. Please call Peggy by July 16th if you want to enjoy this afternoon dining in a mansion!
SATURDAY, JULY 25-PWP DANCE
PWP will hold their July Dance at Crehan’s Irish Pub in Belleville. The Dance will start at 7:30 pm.
Dr. Dee, our favorite DJ will keep the dance music going.
FRIDAY-JULY 31-GOURMET GALLIVANT-TONG PHON THAI RESTAURANT
On July 31, we will be going to the Tong Phoon Thai Restaurant which is located at 5900 North
Illinois Street in Fairview Heights, IL. Their menu offers a wide variety of tasteful and delicious
dishes from the Popular Pad Thai to House Specialty like Bangkok Combo or Grapao Duck. The chef
/ owner have extensive experience in Thai cooking. Please call our sponsor so she can provide an
attendee count to the restaurant.
