Clearly it is inadequate. We have no water within hours of a power failure which is too often. We have lost all the supplied services including BT due to local development on multiple occasions The site foremen have been completely disinterested. It is my opinion that all existing residents require compensation for all future development. There should also be a fine payable for all disturbance to someone else's services including restricting access to their property. Developers and there builders are cavalier in the extreme. They are not controlled, they do not comply with planning and they are currently running rough shod through our neighbourhood like a plague of locusts. When they finally have finished the residents will have a town without working infrastructure. There will be unreiable power, poor water supply and ground saturated by effluent delivered from expensive malfunctioning treatment plants. Mobile signal inside properties fluctuates Lymington Bottom Road near junction with Five Ash Road Lymington Bottom Road near Watercress Surgery/Business Park. Daily foul smell of sewage as Septic tanks are dealt with. Drainage/ sewage/ mobile phone- Lymington Bottom Road No access to fibre broadband anywhere in area Sewage - Telegraph lane and all other areas on sceptic tanks. Broadband - Telegraph lane Mobile telephone network - Telegraph lane During heavy rain there is a river outside our gate Broadband is slow Mobile phone network is nonexistent Lymington Bottom Road South Town Road Drainage in local roads, hotspots LBR both ends, end of Beechlands on to Five Ash are examples. Robustness of electric supply including regular "dips" Improved mobile network however we don't need masts so double edged sword. Surface water on Lymington Bottom Road near the cross road with Five Ash Road Overhead power cables too near to trees Broadband slow on Hussell Lane No service on O2 in some parts of village Alton Lane Alton Lane High speed broadband needed There are areas on the Lymington Bottom road towards Medstead which flood. Areas of Four Marks use septic tanks, as no mains sewage available. Flooding in Lymington Bottom is still a problem. Flooding at the bottom of Beechlands Road after heavy rain as the soakaways get blocked with leaves etc that get washed down to the lowest point of three sloping roads. Most of Medstead prone to power cuts in bad weather although this does not happen as often as in the past. Many parts of Medstead have a weak mobile signal especially EE Drainage-Five Ash Crossroads has flooded regularly for many years. Also in centre of village. Broadband-Can be too slow. Mobile reception very poor. High speed broadband in Telegraph Lane is urgently required Lymingtom bottom Road , Soldridge Road end -surface water Rather too many power cuts in the last 24 months. Had many powercuts (at least 6/year). Poor mobile phone reception with most providers. Gas some areas are completely without and installation is prohibitively expensive Phones coverage is patchy and 3G non existent Water drainage: Beginning of paice lane, lymington bottom road Broadband: Paice lane, Center of the village Mobile network: Paice lane, Center of the village Limington Bottom frequently floods at the junction with Blackberry lane and the roads into and out of Medstead are frequently flooded after heavy rain. Broadband has improved with the advent of superfast but still does not achieve optimal speed and has a tendency to drop out from time to time. Mobile signal is poor at times and there is not even 3G let alone 4G coverage in the area I live. Garden waste I collected fortnightly. I have a "Brown" wheelie bin which is full after one mow of the garden.. In summer months a weekly collection would be of benefit and in winter would only need a monthly collection. Need to clarify what can be recycled and improve the range of products that are collected - such as food waste for composting. Drainage around Uplands Lane, Brislands Lane, Lymington Bottom Road Some networks have bad coverage around Four Marks, particularly Vodaphone. O2 disappears from Four Marks to Medstead Our drive on Winchester Rd always floods since you got reduced the grassy areas. Always having power cuts and often this can be because of the new house builders! Broadband can be pretty bad. As there are 5 of us having one bin emptied once a fortnight is dreadful - in the summer we constantly had to deal with maggots and were having to drive black bin bags to the local waste site. Broadband and Mobile Network - Four Marks Mobile reception is exceedingly poor given the size of the village (voice & data). Broadband has become noticeably slower. broadband west end lane Flooding at the school juntion Broadband for people with 01962 numbers Lymington Bottom Road is often flooded and water cascades down from the fields behind our house @ Crown Wood and amazingly they're thinking of building new houses here, which will just exacerbate the problem. Flooding by Four Marks school and bottom of Brislands Lane. Worried the drainage system won't cope with all the new houses. Broadband keeps dropping out. Recycling could be improved. More could be recycled than is currently. Too many power outages, many due to owners poor maintenance of hedgerows and trees Mobile coverage is very poor in Medstead Broadband in Medstead. Mobile phone network inadequate in Medstead (no Vodaphone). Recycling too limited especially plastics (compared to eg Woking). Would prefer refuse collection weekly. Orange mobile reception is poor both at home in Upper Soldridge and even worse in the High Street area, Medstead. Surface drainage at Lymington bottom and brislands lane needs to be improved Our sewage system is at maximum Electricity supply will need upgrading for the planned developments Mobile signal is poor we need better 4g coverage in all locations Very slow broadband and mobile phone coverage patchy Surface drainage - heavy clay causes bug issues with run off. gardens flood as well as various points along Lymington Bottom Rd including the crossroads with Five Ash. Bottom of Beechlands Rd floods regularly. Sewerage - no mains drainage. Medstead clay cannot support large septic tank systems or more than 4 houses per acre. Electric - frequent power cuts and voltage drops/ Loss of water in water in power cuts and low water pressure all the time. On the country roads too much surface water simply flows down the side ruining the verges. This results from almost complete lack of maintaining the drain away channels. Broadband needs to brought up to genuine fiber optic cabling - to the house not just the exchange! There are some (a few) dead spots of coverage for some mobiles in the area. 1. High speed broad bandto all homes to enable residents to work from home. 2. mobile signal strength of some providers is weak. Rubbish collection would be improved by weekly collections of both recycling and non-recycling alternatively, colelction to within the propoerty - security issue of leavign bins at kerb if not going to be back home on collection day. Not enough drainage on new builds. Our garden is always flooded. Five Ash Crossroads General Abbey Road Better, regular glass recycling from the house Lymington Bottom Road/Five Ash Road, Medstead, floods where the school bus stops, by Five Ash pond All on septic tanks, so no sewage system Fibre Optic Better signal reception from O2 Mobile reception is very weak - only accessible from an upstairs room in the house 5 Lane End and Lymington Bottom/Brislands Lane Insufficient area coverage for mobile phones in Four Marks Increase in fibre optic in village Lymington Bottom Road all the way to Medstead from the A31. Lots of drainage issues / flooding. Improved speed of broadband in the more rural areas Surface water drainage - several known localised flooding points around four marks that never seem to addressed. Sewerage - to get more percentage of houses on mains sewerage and also manage developments. Electricity - there's been quite a few power cuts. Broadband - this definitely needs to be improved as it's important these days to be connected. Mobile network - better coverage would give more options. We have frequent power cuts in large parts of Four Marks Broadband is slow Lymington Bottom Road seems to be in constant flood state when there is any rain. Both Medstead and Four Marks need better phone reception. 4G would be brilliant. EHDC seem to be recycling less and less (as to what is acceptable on their list) Electricity - after more than 100 years, more should have been placed underground in view of weather risks in area. Broadband - although improved, could be much better. Mobile phone Impossible, really no change after 10 years Broadband in Telegraph Lane is low speed and occasional outages Sewage is at capacity and still major parts of FM are not connected to public sewers With a clay cap across the villages, road flooding is common, and with HCC lack of drains maintenance, plus additional run-off from new housing developments (whatever the so-called drainage consultants promises are). No mobile signal at home in Bighton Road and many other parts of the village. Overhead electricity cables are prone to damage by high winds. Slow broadband. Drainage in Lynington Bottom Rd is still a problem. No mobile network cover for O2 users in the village Lymington Bottom/Five Ash Junction. Runoff form the pig farm is a hazard both flooding the road and contamination of the surface water and groundwater. Sewage treatment near the butchers is very smelly. Four Marks. Flooding - Bottom of Brislands Lane where it joins Lymington Bottom. Flooding - Area past Four a Marks school as if heading towards Farringdon, by Hawthorn Lane. Rubbish collection - Meadow Brook estate needs more collections as so many families with huge amounts of rubbish like nappies, gets too full for every other week. Often bags are ripped open and rubbish all over street. In area of Telegraph lane to enhance security of supply in adverse weather conditions Surface water needs to be organised more efficiently Broadband is too slow and needs to be updated to fibre optics. Mobile telephone needs to be updated Recycling should be organised more efficiently by the council. FLOODING AT 5 ASH CROSSROAD FIBRE OPTIC REQUIRED MOBILE NETWORK IS STEADILY GETTING WORSE Inadequate field drains at stables in the Five Ash/Soldridge crossroads area, leads to flooding of residential properties and the crossroads itself. Electricity - to reduce power cuts. Mobile Network - all networks pretty useless. Power outages are experienced several times per year, and not only in abnormally adverse weather. Mobile telephone reception is quite patchy with all Phone companies. Most provide services toward the bottom of an acceptable range. Peak, good signal is rarely achieved when in any part of the village (experience based on 3 people on 3 different networks) Water pressure is not good, it has gone down since lots of new houses have been built. Collecting rubbish every other week in the summer is unacceptable. We would like to have been included in the BT upgrade for faster internet but the centre of Medstead has been left out. There are places in the village where rain water does not drain quickly enough, Roe downs road where it dips just after the speed limit, outside the post office, cross roads on Lymington Bottom. Abbey Rd Kings Hill Trinity hill (bottom) Boyneswood road surface water there is no sewage system broadband slowly improving mobile signal should be stronger a mans sewage system is needed along Boyneswood Road Reception can be quite poor. The Orange mast was down for a week a year or two back. I am hoping the flooding of some areas in four Marks and Medstead keeps the developments at bay Lymington Bottom Lymington Bottom, Brislands Lane, Hawthorn Road - surface water On new estates - sewage Brislands Lane - Broadband speed and mobile reception All parts of the village - frequent electricity power cuts Boyneswood Road area for all. Surface water Lymington Bottom Rd at crossroads Bradband could be faster Broadband service is appallling. I use it for personal matters and cannot imagine how local businesses cope in this highly competitive electronic age. This alone would make me look for premises elsewhere. Water Drainage - Trinity Hill Sewage - Would be good to get a sewage system for Medstead Electricity - Regular power cuts in Medstead Mobile Phone Network - Poor service in Medstead No mains drainage at west end of Four Marks Increasing numbers of power cuts in village / area Poor mobile phone coverage at west end of Four Marks Lymington Bottom Rd just before the railway tunnel and at the crossroads with Five Ash Rd and Soldridge Rd. Mains sewage system needed throughout the village. centre of village everywhere in village - mains drainage needed broadband too slow no mobile signal in area of school and abbey road Much of A31 not on mains drainage YET EHDC still allow numerous 'pumping station' solutions. We have too many power cuts (but it is slowly getting better) Broad band access unreliable Mobile phone connection unreliable Surface water drainage No mains drainage in our area not a problem for us road surface water is a constant hazard in rainy weather we have a lot of problems with our household drains Broadband quality in Abbey Road needs to improve Recycling in Abbey Road needs to take more items Southtown Road Roedowns Road, Boyneswood Road Surface water - cross roads at the centre of Medstead, Lymington Bottom Road opposite the Telephone substation. Sewage system - expand to include older and newer properties within the Community. Gas - Expand to include all properties in the Community, new and old. Broadband Expand to include all properties in the Community. Mobile telephone coverage - Improve coverage throughout the Community. Surface water regularly lying on roads. Electricity supply offend fails. Broadband is too slow for local business to compete with local towns. Poor reception for most providers, particularly Vodafone and Orange. Rubbish collection not as frequent as it could be particularly in the summer attracting flys etc etc flooding along lymington bottom smell in front of butchers and watercress surgery fortnightly collection is not enough for families Surface water needs addressing in certain areas Mains drainage should be installed in new housing where possible Recycling could be clearer and bottle banks / clothing banks emptied more often Broadband much better now Fibre installed :o) Flooding on the road. Slow Broadband Not always able to get mobile phone signal Roads flooding at Blackberry / Brislands regularily Broadband speeds are poor Local blackspots for Vodafone Fourmarks We need a food recycling collection and more types of plastic recycled. Faster broadband - even though it has gone up Better mobile signal - very poor away from A31 Food waste recycling weekly - like Surrey Heath Council Broadband - need high speed connection (four marks) Mobile networks - need stronger signal (four marks) Sewage treatment plant in Alton Electricity supply to whole of Four Marks and South Medstead Questions 32 and 33 are technically unanswerable as there is no explanation as to what the "future needs of the area" are. If you mean "do these utilities need improving now?" then:- surface water runs off the south side of Blackberry Lane down residents' driveways as the gutters are inadequate. Electricity power cuts would reduce if the supply was by underground cables rather than being susceptible to wind damage on overhead power lines. Mobile phone reception in the area is very poor. Bottom of Lymington Bottom, Four Marks Along Lymington Bottom road- Medstead Drive around the roads after a week of rain - lots are flooded North of railway line & Alton Lane area Brownouts are common in FM Broadband speeds often similar to the old dial-up services these days Water drainage, various roads around Four Marks. Sewege, Shrave. Electricity, globally across area. Gas, globally across area. Broadband, globally across area. Mobile, globally across area. 5 Lanes End Existing sewage system throughout Four Marks and route to Farringdon & Alton Throughout Four Marks Bottom of red bushes Everywhere in medstead as there is none Power cuts every year Gas installation faulty installed by Crayfern builder Always buffering bbc I player Not enough green waster collections The whole area needs fast fibre-optic broadband, this is 2015 already. GU34 5NQ has no 3G mobile phone coverage let alone 4G. This is 2015 already Power cuts in Four Marks can occur due to severe weather conditions Only just been able in the last few days to connect to faster broadband. Boyneswood Road area where there has been too much house building over last few years and even more has been planned despite hundreds of sensible and constructive objections. The infrastructure is appalling. No one at Ehdc takes any notice whatsoever. A Neighbourhood plan is meaningless because no notice is taken of local residents opinions. Mobile networks have very poor reception We don't have Gas. Rubbish collection once a fortnight is not adequate in summer We don't have main drainage despite it being promised within 5 years when we moved here 40 years ago. Surface water drainage is very bad on some roads Broadband reliability and speed needs improving Surface water drainage - Lymington Bottom Road floods regularly Broadband is unreliable Mobile phone 3G signal is non existant in Four Marks OUR BROADBAND IS STILL SLOW DESPITE HAVING INFINITY - FOUR MARKS 5 ways junction near school needs better surface water drainage - regular flooding occurs. Broad band is incredibly slow in the Ropley exchange section of Four Marks. We have had a number of power outages, though they are short. My concern is further developments may increase this problem. The sewage system for the shops nearby is inadequate and at certain times the smell is dreadful. Broadband slow Mobile signal poor blackberry lane/alton lane water run off onto lymington bottom. some kind of storm drain leading to collecting pool could help Lymington Bottom Certain road services regularly 'puddle' - near the Medstead church. Some roads would benefit from more runoffs in these areas. No further residential build should occur without access to mains. It is however important in Medstead to remember Four Marks housing increased mainly due to this access being given where previously a limit was placed because of soakaway problems Broadband and mobile should be better Medstead High Street Medstead High Street Medstead High Street ALL LOCATIONS AND ALL SERVICES, WE ARE OVER LOADED IN ALL AREAS Bottom of Redhill - floods really badly every time it rains/Boyneswood lane is a mud bath and surface really bad. We live in Bluebell Gardens which is a development of 12 houses built 3 years ago. The services are all really poor, but we don't publicise the problems as it may "Blight" our properties if potential buyers find out how bad it really is. When it rains I often get drenched when walking to the doctors on the Lymington Bottom Road pavement. There are still too many power cuts in Four Marks and they are not decreasing. There is no/poor mobile reception Generally in Four Marks Alton Lane to all Surface water at junction of Common Hill, Homestead Rd. & Bighton Rd. No public sewage system (private septic tanks) Multiple overhead elctricity cable failures per annum No mobile signal available Broadband is not the best it can be. Once every two weeks for collecting household waste isn't frequent enough. Better O2 coverage Surface Water is a huge problem particularly on A31 with drivers who dont know the road. Electricity we have too many electricity power cuts Broadband is appalling and slow and unreliable Mobile Telephone networks seem to be getting worse with very little coverage if any in the villages Recycling / rubbish collection as a family of x6 we keep chickens and recycle everything religously however in the summer the rubbish is disgusting it smells and keeping maggots out the bin is impossible. Recycling is not sufficient and the lorries should take excess bags of stuff if left out not leave it for the animals to scatter everywhere this is an appallingly inadequate service when compared to those who live in other areas.. Eg Hillingdon. DRAINAGE - A31 AT TELEGRAPH LANE ACCESS; LOW LYING AREAS IN FM eg DIP IN BLACKBERRY LANE ELECTRICITY - PROTECTION OF POWER CABLES FROM ALTON BROADBAND - SPEED INCREASE AND RELIABILITY MOBILE - AT LEAST 3G AND WHY NOT 4G RECYCLING - STILL TOO LIMITED IN CONTENT eg AU FOIL, WIDER RANGE OF PLASTICS, TETRAPACS etc Drainage in Southtown Road/Five Ash Cross Roads. Mobile mast needed. Alton Lane All locations where improvements are need are directly related to the sites where new housing is proposed especially large developments More housing - better water/electricity/sewerage systems Sewerage because of continued building work Broadband so we all get fibre Recycling - weekly garden collection because so many of us have green areas; food waste recycling needs to be introduced; more frequent glass collection Extend main drainage Water drainage - bottom of beechlands road, at crossroads five ash road (pig farm). Five ash crossroads water drainage, Lymington bottom road - no swears, poor mobile coverage near to WKL. 5 Ash cross roads entrance to Lymington bottom shop area Broadband needs to be quicker and more reliable Too many mobile blackspots in and around the village particularly O2 Fibre optic broadband Electricity cuts happen often The sewage system needs to be upgraded to meet the needs of new development. The same applies to the electricity supply. Mobile reception can be patchy away from the main roads. Surface Water Drainage causing flooding in Brislands Lane/Lymington Bottom Too many extended power outages at end of Brislands Lane No 3G mobile network coverage in area in general Water: When it rains the lagoons in Lymington Bottom Road and Grosvenor Road (A31 end) are dangerous. Broadband: Too slow and the speed-up date has been put back. B.T. cannot be trusted to deliver on time. Mobiles: Whole parts of the area are without a signal. The lack of public lighting is a great disadvantage. We have lived in many part of the UK and this is the only residence we have lived in where there is no street lighting. Had we realised this we may not have purchased a house here. Any area linked to the Ropley exchange (01962 numbers) seems to have a major broadband issue. We are in the unfortunate situation of being virtually the last house in Alton Lane to be connected to Ropley, with those further up being on 01420 having no trouble with broadband Broadband in abbey road O2 phone in soldridge EE & vodaphone in abbey road Lymington Bottom Road junction with Five Ash road and 5 lanes junction by primary school have frequent flooding. Many areas not on mains drainage. Broadband and some mobile network have poor reception, with frequent broadband problems broadband The water pressure is very poor and as most of the area is not on mains drainage the area cannot cope with more development unless suffient infrastructure is out in place, broadband is slow, suffer from lots of power cuts, recycling for the council is extremely poor a lot of recyclable goods e.g food waste should be part of the council plan. Lymington Bottom Road Abbey Road, Medstead Electricity - too many power cuts Broadband - too slow Mobile - Vodafone is very bad Telegraph Lane Lymington Bottom Road/South Town Road Five Ash Rd j/w Roe Downs/Red Hill/Lymington Bottom Road/Grosvenor Road No mains sewage in area at all Continuing likelihood of power outages Broadband slow and unreliable Mobile phone network signal weak Surface water flooding common, e.g. Beechlands Road junction, pig farm on Lymington Bottom Road, railway bridge near Soldridge. Too many houses North of the railway still on septic tanks. Power cuts have been too common in recent years. Vodafone reception is terrible. Flooding in Central Medstead - between church and hardware store Poor mobile reception in central medstead Lapwing Way - All of the above Electricity - we do get frequent power cuts compared with ohter areas of the country we have lived in. Mobile telephone network - We don't get a mobile signal in our house. Rubbish/recycling collection - weekly collection for both since health hazard esp in hot summers water drainage => Hussle Lane and road in front of pig farm Broadband and mobile coverage => Hussle lane Flooding at low road points - school in Four Marks, Blackberry Lane, Brislands Lane and bottom of Vectis close. Overhead electric cables breaking and supply being cut - better to bury cables. Mobile phone reception is still appalling if you don't live on Winchester Road. Mobile telephone network in blackberry lane is patchy Power cuts occur overnight sometimes and digital clocks reset to 0.00. Broadband can be slow. Surface water drainage not too much of a problem but regular flood at LBR and bottom of Grosvenor road before bridge. Broadband - we understand is being improved.. Leamington Road (surface water) Blackberry Lane (mobile phone networks) Surface water - all main roads to Four Marks Sewage - new developments with shared sewage systems that are inadequate Braodband - everywhere Broadband - speed Mobile phone - All networks give marginal reception. At least one of the networks needs to have a more local /powerful transmitter Mobile phone signals in Four Marks are extremely poor and make working at home difficult. Collecting domestic waste once a fortnight is unacceptable. Surface Water - Badger Close Broadband - GU34 5HD Mobile Netwrok - GU34 5HD Cannot get a good Vodafone signal where I live. Kitchen waste collections should be weekly. Four Marks. where we live GU34 5EU GU34 5EU GU34 5EU GU34 5EU GU34 5EU Super fast speed broadband not available. Surface water most local road but particularly Lymington Bottom Road Sewage mains drainage required before ANYMORE new development Electricity 1. to many outages & hotch potch connections i.e. Roedowns Road, there are several separate groups that do not all go off in some outages Broadband in Roedowns road forget downloading when children get home from school Mobile network which provider can give reception in side our house? Grosvenor Road, Medstead for broadband and mobiles A31 for surface water especially approaching the roundabout Medstead side of the a31. This has got to be improved for heath reasons Every four weeks for collecting bottles! Do they think we live on water! Surface water run off onto the roads approaching Four Marks creates hazardous driving conditions (Spray aquaplaning) Mobile reception is poor I cannot use my Vodafone network indoors. Biweekly collection of perishable waste is unhealthy in the summer. Lack of street lighting on the Kingswood Rise Development is dangerous for pedestrians, particularly for children in the winter.months 1. Still occasional flooding at the end of Boyneswood Road. 2. The village needs a sensible integrated approach to sewerage disposal. Just dumping it all into the ground isn't the answer. 3. The Broadband Service is frequently slow and unreliable in our house. Five Ash Cross Road (surface water) Whole area (mobille phone network) - drainage near soldridge/five ash crossroad improved since pond was dug out, but still needs more - fortnightly rubbish collection barely adequate - increased housing may put more strain on the collection system and reduce frequency even more We need fibre optic internet, many professionals in Four Marks regularly work from home The mobile reception is very poor for most networks. Surface water at junction of Kitwood Road and Hawthorn Lane Very slow Broadband speed Surface water: many roads around Medstead Broadband: often very poor and slow Mobile: often no service in the area Sewage system- not on mains drainage Electricity- too many overhead cables putting supply at risk in storms Broadband slow again due to overhead cables No signal at home Surface water - various points - Lymington Bottom/Brislands Lane junction, Uplands Lane, school crossroads. Sewage - more capacity needed for all the new housing, and areas not yet served. Electricity - too unreliable, particularly the West end of Four Marks. Mobiles - only O2 works in much of Lymington Bottom. Rubbish - weekly collections of rubbish needed, especially in summer months. You missed out water! Low pressure or even total stoppage in some areas - more capacity needed. There are several areas where surface water remains for some time eg Lymington Bottom. We seem to have regular power cuts although I accept that some are a direct result of cables being cut in error/ignorance by builders. We still await BT Infinity. Mobile reception is patchy. Gullies and drains need sorting out now. more houses needing to go on mains drainage Broad band can be hit and miss Mobile networks can be hit and miss depending on supplier. Go back to weekly rubbish collections. GU34 5JE Water drainage: road from a31 going into Soldridge. Standing water on A31. Broadband: poor bandwidth Mobile phone signal: Soldridge -all providers are poor. O2 is the best of a bad bunch. Electricity in the Blackberry lane area Surface water drainage - A31 between Chawton roundabout and Four Marks. Five Lanes End Broadband - Throughout the village. 3G would be acceptable if not 4G for broadband and mobile phones Recycling - Vegetable waste collection would be good. Bigger bins Sewage system not available at our home Electricity supply needs to be put underground Weekly landfill collections preferred Multiple flood zones on surrounding roads over -reliance on sewerage treatment plants frequent power cuts which in turn affect water pressure Slow broadband speeds compared to what is available from providers Intermittent Mobile signals across the area Windsor road Several roads around Medstead suffer standing water I understand that the current sewage syatem is struggling to cope with the number of homes we have already. Xmas 2013 Electricity Blackout for 2-3 days was unacceptable There are no plans for fibre optic broadband in Medstead Mobil coverage is patchy in the area Lymington Bottom Road and Five Ash Road crossroads nearly always floods despite new pond Faster Broadband in Medstead Need fibre broadband Need mobile signal Need comprehensive recycling facilities Surface water drainage is a major problem, particularly along the A31 between Four Marks and Chawton Mobile telephone signal is very poor No sewage system, septic tank Broadband needs to be fibre optics Large puddles still on many roads if it rains heavily, Lymington bottom is still bad. Weekly rubbish in summer is needed, Winter is OK and recycle is OK Mobile network extremely patchy in whole of village. Have tried two different providers and resorted to buying a signal booster box so I could send and receive texts without having to go and sit on my drive! Broadband speed OK but could be improved - if I remember rightly this is currently being implemented in the village. Surface water flooding local roads to the detriment of pedestrians. Lymington Bottom Road by bridge Vectris Close/ Lymington Bottom. Poor Mobile reception. Generally across the area. More diverse recycling by EHDC would be appreciated, eg sepeate food waste Broadband too slow Bottle collection is too infrequent Prevent flooding at bottom of Brislands Lane Reduce Power Outages at far end of Brislands Lane Improve Broadband speed in the area (Fibre) Provide at least a 3G signal across the whole of the area Flooding at bottom of Brislands Lane Power Outages too frequent Slow Broadband speed No 3G mobile coverage Q.45 How often in a year do you experience interruptions to Utilities: Other (please specify) Low water pressure - thunb will stop flow! TV reception poor as is mobile phone reception. Mobile coverage is non-existent, broadband often weak Electricity variable (surges) Mobile - Weak signal most of the time Mobile coverage and Four Marks School Mobile is constantly failing no mobile coverage No mobile phone signal ! Cannot quantify the reliability of gas service, have been a customer for only 2 yrs and so far have had no problem. Mobile signal appaling, broadband subject to poor connection tV I cannot get mobile coverage from Blackberry Close Mobile cover - no choice Gas is our most reliable service, we need power to use it. Broadband a bit slow Moved into Four Marks too recently to have experienced any problems, but neighbours tell us that electricity cuts are a problem. Orange Network Mobile No consistent mobile signal at home in Bighton Rd. Had 3 weeks without terrestrial phone/broadband in 2013 - disastrous for business. Moved in in October 2014 and have no expereience variable signal for mobile network See comments above about mobile signal. Water pressure frequently drops. Tv reception poor Poor reception for mobile phone Low water pressure is a problem 3G signal intermittent, no 4G (Vodafone and Three) Mobile signal still poor NEW RESIDENTS SO NO RECORD OF FAILURES (BUT STOCKING CANDLES) Tv signal problems water pressure not good Virtually no signal in and around home and garden. There is no 3G mobile coverage in the area We have no gas supply and no N/a option given. Mobile signal coverage does depend on the provider; the Broadband issue is one of speed rather than complete loss Mobile coverage is very limited from anywhere on our property. We have almost no mobile signal coverage at home. mobile signal coverage is especially bad in four marks No mobile signal at all Have occupied current home for less than one year There is usually NO or very little mobile signal. The braodband is sometimes very slow Q.46 How would you feel about one or more of the following renewable energy projects for the community to be installed in the area Other (please specify) What a silly question one cannot agree or disagree about a feeling. depends on sighting Every house being allowed wind turbine (as technology improves) Solar panels to be fitted to ALL new houses. Dependant on location and size solar farm would need to be sensibly sighted Solar panels on roofs/ barns etc ground source heat pumps No fracking due to trafic and development Pebble bed nuclear power station No room in Four Marks All new builds to be Eco friendly, mandatory for developers STOP SPOILING THE COUNTRYSIDE. Would need to know more about location and benefits Disagree with these two strongly! Hydroelectric generation from all the water runoff Unsightly. Encourage INDIVIDUALS re.solar panels and electrical efficiencies/ insulation of home solar panels allow wilkd life tro continue Really important for sustainability long term No fracking There is already a solar farm on A31 Depends where it is and environmental impact Yes - outside of residential areas( in Principle)/ key open spaces & views. If solar panels were installed on all new houses it would not be necessary to turn green fields into solar farms. Solar and Wind: I still need to be convinced that the manufacture of solar panels from glass, aluminium and other raw materials is actually then negated by the environmentally friendly end product before I can advocate their green credentials None Leave it alone fracking must not be allowd All depend upon location - could be acceptable As long as the community did benefit Have solar power n village already Not efficient and ugly I am distinctly uneasy with the politicians drive to scatter these systems across the country side in the belief that they will solve our national energy supply challenge. They do not and never can deliver 24/7 guaranteed service. WOULD NEED TO KNOW FULLER DETAILS Nuclear power DEPENDSA WHERE AND IF THE SECOND TWO FUNCTION WELL ONly agree if used for rev generation Wind farms need to be away from Populated areas I would be agreeable if the sites were agreed with the residents. Soalr panels on all roofs-no charge. Definately compulsory on all new builds. Increase photovoltaic on property roofs Wind farms are fine as long as they are not too intrusive or near to sensitive areas Wind Farm - this question is too generic, it would depend on the site chosen but we have no objection in principle. have no info on Geothermal power generation so we cannot express an opinion Would prefer all new developments to include renewable energy provisions combined heat and power at a village or property scale The three with don't know are probably yes if there are not unsightly buildings or any noise associated with them. Solar farms are a much better alternative to expensive house top alternatives, but must ensure no reflected light will affect anyone. Most renewable technologies at a small scale are NOT economic, and only exist because of massive subsidy. Self builds should be offered subsidies for renewable energy products to help them build carbon neutral homes mandatory solar panels on all new house builds Better than more housing! It should be instead of housing, not in addition to. Need more information solar farm currently under construction in Bradley Cannot answer until details are know. In principle - agree. Not sure how you would get them "for the benefit of the community"! biodigester In my opinion tidal and wave energy are the only economical and viable methods of providing suitable green energy. DO NOT AGREED TO ANY OF THESE PLEASE Reality check required here ridiculous suggestions! Solar pannels should be put on roofs and not on land used for agriculture All are inappropriate for such a beautiful, quiet and rural location. Wind farms are not green when you consider all the factors Solar on house roofs Depends where sited and how they looked etc not sure about the size of any of these to produce a significant difference, so can't answer Location of Wind Farm would influence our view! Heat pumps (domestic) AND FINALLY....any comment you wish to make or anything you you feel we have not covered please enter in the space below: Poorly worded survey. sorry I am late but I have had shingles and have been living with family in nov, dec, and january disabled mini for transport for senior citizens to luncheon club-bus, church ect population increase over last 15 years is excessive in four marks compared to alton, petersfield and liphock. Please stop building so many houses in Four Marks! It's not a village anymore. I had to include thsi that was written on back of the envelope 'Please could you use a tastier glue to lick? LOL! ' We need more smaller houses and an infrastructure that can sustain them It was difficult to convey that 2 self employed businesses are run from this property. Also I tried on line but the survey ended at question 15 so had to do paper version Congratulations on a very comprehensive survey and all your hard work. It is appreciated. We need a Post Office and pub and cheaper local buses. Not enough infrastructure to support the buildings in place, water pressure already affected. No more Houses more emphesis on affordable and social housing for family members of local residents. No more housing 'Estates' please! NO MORE HOUSE BUILDING Thank you for the oppertunity Condition of local roads eg Lymington Bottom Road is appalling. Many local footpaths (pavements) poor uneven and risky to use at night. Households outside lights. There are too many bright flood lights wasting resources and polluting the area. Houses keep being built withput councils taking into account whether schools, doctors, etc can cope with extra people which they are struggling to do. Post Office and Bank in Four Marks. No question asked about Post Office, we do need one. More speed traps would be good to control speed through the villages. A small park area in woods would be good for children/yong people. Look after Medstead Village and leave as is. Development is not sustainable. speed camersas on Main Road by Lymington Bottom cross roads- nightmare drivers Speed limits on roads. Paice Lane is a race track. Please consider a 30mph limit No P/O or public house in the village There are a number of properies in GU 34 whose use of land appears to contravene normal practice - nothing seems to be done about this. Thanks for your time Secondary school provision, public toilet, lack of local employment, care home provision-retirement bungalows, allotment provision, Style of housing(no more 3 storey, bypass provision Would appreciate a postal vote for May 2015 election Why does no one listen to residents who object to major planning decisions?! The state of the road surfaces(potholes for example) Somewhere is needed that brings the ommunity together like a pub for families, nice restaurants etc. Somewhere for teenagers to go to, astro football pitch etc thank you for asking our opinion- a great idea! More small meeting rooms, say for 50 people. Village Hall often booked up. We are concerned that Four Marks is losing its identity as a village. It will no longer be a 'retreat' from the town. No major developments needed Developers have badly damaged the verge along the Shrave. Why are they not made to reinstate? The 'footpath' for pedestrians is totally inadequate and dangerous and should be raised above the road. Four Marks bus shelter for Winchester is totally inadequate in cold and rainy weather. It is a wind tunnel and gives no protection at all. Four marks needs a Post Office I think a pub is needed in Four Marks and would provide a focal meeting point Traffic still travels too fast along main road. fixed camera may help Why do we need a firwork shop? Thank you for your Neighbourhood Plan and trust the implementation will keep our village safe from over-development New builds need to have better sized gardens, currently too small Water pressure is very low at peak times and getting worse with all the extra housing. The decision to permit 9 houses on a site behind the village hall is a disgrace which ignores the wishes of the majority of the people living nearby please please leave medstead abd four marks alone, we have had enough ! we have lost our villages already. Enough is enough - thank you clear and adequate widths of pavements (particularly on A31) for children and families Too many large houses with tiny gardens Street lighting A31 Crash barrier between A31 and the Shrave. Currently very dangerous for the ever increasing vehicle traffic that uses the Shrave Need Post Office in Four Marks why are there no public toilets in Four Marks or Medstead ? Four Marks too populated. Build in the surrounding villages. Underage drinking and vandalism needs return of local policemen police need to monitor vehicle speeds at schools + stop constantly locating their cameras at Lymington Bottom on A31, where there are very few pedestrians and no children why have you taken all this time to do a survey. The village cosmetically is a disgrace Oak Green who's responsible for the upkeep add Water Supply to Utilities imrovements ! By-pass for Four Marks needed Traffic flow from Medstead to A31 restricted Road safety; enforcement of speed limits would be nice. Mobile coverage and broadband need to be improved. The development in the last 10 years should be enough for Medstead and Four Marks. Thanks you all for your hard work on this project. It is much appreciated. Suggestion for problem with school & parking: Make a car park between school and football pitch with access from Roe Downs Road and South Town Road cut hedges on A31 and Lymington Bottom to help walkers on pavement having traffic going close Pub! More dog poo bins! 20mphon Winchester Road - no speed restrictions used now! Nice Four Marks sign with flowers below it The village is now a town. Needs community cohesion out with religious groups. We need a pub in Four Marks or improvements to Four Marks pavilion Planning appears reactive. Maybe ok to have another 5000 houses but must be part of a proper total plan Started completing form online and Monkey stopped at no 15. Could not continue or restart again. Found this to have very biased questions & Scout Hut is also Guide Hut. There are far too many HGVs using the A31 rather than the M3 or A3 As a newcomer to the area, some of the questions I have been unable to answer as I have not lived here long enough to comment. Local speeding issues need sorting. Perhaps residents speed guns could be used as in Beech PLEASE CAN WE HAVE A POST OFFICE IN FOUR MARKS. From page 3: We have lived in Four Marks for the last 20 years- would never have moved here if 20 yrs ago it was like it is now! Traffic through village is excessive and exit from Telegraph Lane is dangerous and needs either a roundabout or traffic lights Support for local pubs Care of the elderly needs to be addressed. There are many people forced to leave their homes due to being asset rich but income poor. Definately no more 'urban-style' developments to be permitted within the village Survey not concentrating on what under 20 yr olds want and ditto over 65 s Speed bumps for safety, as speed limits are totally ignored in South Town Road Too many small business units on quiet roads create a massive increase in commercial often very large vehicles that are dangerous and wreck verges Some people seem to be able to get away with building larger houses on the plots than regulations permit. Garden grabbing should be stopped. Road surfacing in Badger Copse incomplete and rough - tripping hazard and potholes. Heydays preschool is situated in a temporary classroom could some of the contingency money be used to build a brick room for these children? The development of the area re home building is appalling & badly planned, unnecessary and driven by a quick profit. This is by far the most concerning aspect about living in Medstead. Road surfacing The local roads need to be repaired. Could have asked for age groups numbers of children to get an estimate of demographics might help in planning amenities More protection and management of native hedgerows- too much laurel and close board fencing, affecting wildlife habitats and corridors. NB child 2 attends Perins School.- 1st choice children attend Preston Candover school as Four Marks had no places Commercial activities in Four Marks becoming a problem. Far too much building development going on before infrastucture is put in i.e. main roads access, schools, doctors etc Please, please no more building. Can the Lapwing entrance be looked at? Can there be another exit into Brislands Lane? No more housing in Brislands lane as the Lane cannot cope with construction traffic. If the Highways could see how dangerous it would never have given permission Too much emphasis on Four Marks Village boundary and name interference by EHDC Large heavy vehicles using Medstead & FM as a shortcut from Lasham crossroads to the A32. A 3.5 tonne limit except for access would be a good move, as the noise during the night and vibration in properties along Lymington Bottom & Road is very disturbing RAOD SURFACES ARE APPALLING A PUB IS MUCH NEEDED IN FOUR MARKS DANGEROUS POTHOLES IN ROADS Would like to be able to answer for occupants 1 & 2 Difficult to combine remarks on both "villages" together. Four Marks/South Medstead are lost already to urbanisation, Just put a halt to all the building and get the roads repaired. Speed bumps to slow the traffic on the A31 Stop the monopoly of developers in the area. I encourage the ethos of self build in the area. Overhanging trees & bushes - dangerous Roads need sweeping regularly thanks for doing the survey intense building is not helping the rare birds to nest and form an exciting part of the rural scene. Therefore the more tree growth, not less, is to be expected in the future. a post office is essential for every community especially the elderly, with no transport!! the boundary to the national park should not be a reason the 4 marks takes undue housing - this was unfair with no consultation The need for a decent pub. The opportunity of creating a community pub at the former Windmill pub has been lost The need to enforce the speed limit on the A31 through Four Marks Contractors driving through estate- endangering lives and being disrespectful when challenged. Ash crossroads pig farm. Disgusting Not for building. Lot of pavements in Four #Marks are uneven and overgrown. Four Marks has too many houses, NO More please. We need a Pub & Post Office & somewhere for the young to go more houses =more people = more traffic on busy badly maintained roads - No more development Too much development in the area !!! at last we will have our voice in the village. well done keep up the good work! Would appreciate this survey being available to all not just on internet - have no access traffic problems on the a31 are not taken seriously for the amount of new houses and families flooding into four marks. the speed has to be addressed a bypass opportunities for local SOCIAL enterprises -premises & cost of them an issue , but there are unused buildings around NB See enclosed A4 notes larger schools to accommodate more children that will come in to m&fm FOUR MARK HAS FOUR OUTLET FOR ALCOHOL BUT NO TO DRINK SOCIALLY WHICH IS A CRYING SHAME stop building houses Just be aware of the HOUSING DECISIONS MADE BY COUNCIL & INSPECTORATE - FOR OUR VILLAGE THE RELENTLESS HOUSE BUILDING IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IN FOUR MARKS REF. 582 No fracking four marks needs a bypass What happens to the pot of money developers give , per house, to the Council.? Should WE have a say what it is spent on ? Cracks are appearing in a GP service which was good. Due to more people in area & higher demand ? Extension to local schools to take incoming new pupils more housing needs more schools, doctors, etc utilities - water pressure Getting the train line extended from Alton to Four Marks (and on to Alresford) would be of massive benefit to the village Consideration of a by[ass as levels of traffic on A31 through Four marks is rising, especially where it is single lane traffic. we need a nice country pub with food and a good restaurant for community socialising. Local entertainment facilities, sport and keep fit facilities Speeding is a huge concern. Car park near tesco is not safe. After school clubs need lighting improved in car parks Need a pub and post office. Cars parked diagonally by tesco parking NEW VILLAGE HALL REQUIRED FOR 21ST CENTURY TO COPE WITH POPULATION GROWTH AND HOUSING DEVELOPMENT REF. 580 Traffic in Area increasing at worrying level, anymore development will result in traffic lights and miniroundabouts being installed. An urban development plan for Four Marks / Medstead would seem to be appropriate. Many of the matters raised here are beyond our power to influence, but it is important that local people can make their views known. Would like to feel safe walking and cycling on village roads. East Hants District Council to listen to Parish council when planning is for approval Disappointed there is only one form per household, we all have our own opinions water supply pressure issues in boyneswood road area need to be addressed, especially in view of friars oak development Traffic calming needed on side roads and A31 Huge congestion outside school am & pm. Road unsafe. Pot holes in roads Strain on GP surgeries due to increased occupancy of village Antisocial behaviour of youth around station and Windmill Fileds Medstead and Four Marks are separate villages and should remain so. STOP BUILDING HOUSES!!! The character of Four Marks and Medstead is being ruined by over-development. We are feeling under siege by developers Pub taken away. miss that as nowhere to go out to eat. Also dark streets for people on own to to walk in. Need post office and a pub in four marks Consider secondary education for residents before house building as we don't have one and those we use are several miles away, and building developments are going up close to schools. reject any future planning applications A comprehensive questionnaire. Although I fear some potential respondents may find the questions too wordy, therefore difficult to answer. I hope you get a good number % replies. NOTHING WILL CHANGE We felt the questionnaire is not sufficiently specific, with insufficient degrees of choice. A Licensed club or community centre in 4Mks village centre. The village has lost its "spirit" We have reached our housing quota - but development is still being given permission top go ahead ie Boyneswood Road. How can this be right? The commercial centre of Four Marks could be re-developed to make it more attractive. No need to make it bigger Great Questionnaire - thank you for the opportunity Too late but might have been useful to have N/A answer I would like to see more authority and finance delegated to the Parish Council - this would improve community involvement. I have completed this paper version because the on-line version stopped at question 15.So please ignore my on-lin e version Well done for involving everyone Good luck - but will this make any difference? MMEDSTEAD DOES NOT NEED A VILLAGE POND Very unhappy to be in South Medstead without any consultation. Who thought that one up? Why? S bends on roads into Medstead should be widened and footpaths provided. Hedgerows should be taken back 1 metre from road edge A new town is planned for Bordon. Extra Houses there would not make too much difference instead of over development in villages which has already happened. Do people really read these questionnaires Post Office in Four Marks We need to make the centre of the village more attractive visually Never see the presence of Police. We are constantly suffering young people drinking dropping litter, etc. swearing; offensive if approached on the green behind Hazel Road Questionnaire 241 Bridleways to make riding horses safer New houses must have sewage disposal (not cesspits). Avoid street lights and pavements. Infrastructure must be in place - eg shops etc Questionnaire 243 Thank You for all of your hard work to support the local community Questionnaire 246 Q6 is spurious re the words "obliged to take". What is the point of this worry if we are obliged by others? When utility companies dig up the road, they need to put them back properly to prevent potholes. We have only been in Medstead 4 months so have only limited experience of local facilities but will be using them in the future My son when visiting now says "feels like the wild west". Questionnaire 247 Speed cameras needed on A31 on a permanent basis, (not at the bottom of Telegraph Lane) where they can be seen 5 miles before and only once a month Qn 13 - School is Ropley Roads are a problem with edges breaking down and repeated pot holes re-occurring. Why do we not in Medstead have a 20 mph limit at the school/village hall/recreation ground area!! An A31 Bypass for Four Marks is a priority. You are at risk of allowing building on available routes to achieve a bypass! This is a MUST . No community can eXist with a busy A road running thro the middle. Reduction and enforcement of speed limits Potholes and appalling road maintenance need to be addressed When brown field sites are developed, the lost employment places should be held in credit WATERCRESS LINE SHOULD BE USED AS RAIL BUS TO/FROM ALTON FOR MAIN LINE CONNECTIONS REF. 349 Need more small office units for small businesses Being new to the area it's clear that there is potential for over development Planning rules are not strong enough, but people care. If EHDC don't come to Four Mark's rescue, we have no future as a village! Stop cars parking on pavements. Paths are uneven - have to walk on road - then abused by drivers. Four Marks is saturated with new building. Permission granted 90% of the time despite local concerns and objections. Please allow us a little respite. We would like there to be complete transparency that all section 106 revenues be retained in the community from which it is generated EHDC take no notice of local wishes whatsoever and continue to bulldoze forward whatever and by any means above board or otherwise Good luck! We have not been asked which sites we would agree could be developed for housing and which not. There could be a better system of litter removal No evening public transport, or facilities for young people in Four Marks. You haven't asked where people would find further housing least objectionable if the Government are determined to force more on our villages. Stop calling Section 106 the Developers Contribution. As you know, the land owner signs with EHDC and ultimately pays We are very concerned about any additional development in the size of Medstead School and the activities held there all leading to increased traffic and light pollution Would really want to encourage EHDC to provide opportunities for right-to -build self build projects. The on-line survey doesn't work properly so I've had to fill this form in' (238) This may be all too late! Not enough bins for pet waste, dog fouling, No street lights Re-instate a good "inn"/meeting place with character/good service/good food. ROAD FLOODING IN CENTRE OF MEDSTEAD AND SOUTH TOWN ROAD. POTHOLES. REF. 352 Please thank everyone for their hard work in putting this plan together. It is a mammoth task and hopefully the residents will appreciate it. REF. 350 seems like a very adequate document - reference 353 My answers relate to Medstead not entirely appropriate to regard FM and M as one entity Medstead is still a village (just) Four Marks has been lost to suburbia Forget the village pond- waste of money. Get a 30mph speed limit on Paice Lane and Goat Acre. Stop Norman Reid trying to develop everywhere! Watercress line bridge in Boyneswood Road PAPER FORM 251 - NB. THIS IS THE 4TH ATTEMPT TO ENTER ON SURVEY MONKEY, SO 4TH TIME LUCKY More pavements in medstead Four Marks/Medstead is not a town only a village. The area is being turned into a town without the local services or employment thus commuting - so much for green issues! No pub in Four Marks. How could EHDC do it to us? General deterioration of shops/flats above need to be smartened up in line with other improvements-eg. bus shelter. Roads covered in pot holes-need to better maintained, due to number of lorries for building work on them. (234) Total waste of time asking this as planning is approved anyway! Vehicle speed limits within the village and enforcement action (231) stop over development of Four Marks and Medstead EHDC Q13. Ropley School x 2 Not able to complete online version as questionnaire stopped at Q15 and said I had completed the survey and said 'thank you'. The Neighbourhood Plan should have been completed much earlier. It is annoying that these delays have allowed Developers to exploit the situation iaw the NPPF. Thank you for all the N Planare doing for us. I did complete on line, went back to change an answer and I could not access questions 1 - 25. I truly applaud your efforts. I am far to cynical to believe any change to the current insanity will occur. Would be nice to have nets on the Medstead football goals and the rubbish bins in that park emptied more regularly overdevelopment of four marks and medstead - particularly with many back garden developments has ruined the character of many parts of the area - notably boyneswood road. Great deal more traffic through medstead at speed, and school places are stretched. Clarification about affordable housing and where it should be built in relation to private homes and the actual definition of affordable housing with future development. At the neighbourhood plan open day it was suggested that Chawton Woods may be developed in to an amenity area perhaps as per Alice Hot; we would be very against this and would wish to preserve the integrity of the woods as they stand Housing to keep young local people in the area. The local shops in Four Marks are all really good but we feel that they need a 'facelift' on the outside, as the bakery had as we feel it would improve the look of the village. Consider somewhere for teenagers to meet and socialise. We and others experience teenagers 'hanging around' residential properties, shouting etc, litter left on the ground. Thank you for all your work. The questionnaire doesn't really address/separate between the current set up of our community and what would need to be in place if we are forced to grow with over development. Thanks for doing this. We are very concerned about over development. While recognising the need for local homes this needs to be firmly controlled in order to preserve the rural character of the village. The increase in number of houses recently has increased antisocial behaviour, dangerous parking and sheer volume of traffic to a level that has completely ruined the feel of the village A good thorough questionnaire, thank you. Now fully retired, so I'm not so active in big issues any more! My main concern is that FM has regrettably multiplied in size in our 34 years here! Provision of a public House should be a priority. Bus services which run into the evening so teenagers can go to a town without needing parents to drive, also a bus service to Basingstoke With the amount of new homes and retired residents in the area e.g. off Brislands Lane, a Post Office is a definite must. Thank you to all of those working so hard on the villages behalf,. My youngest daughter attends Butterflies Pre-School in Four Marks Village Hall. There was no box for that in the schools section. Up to a certain point it was working, then Q15 would not respond, forcing me to answer. I could skip to 18, all answers of which would have been DK Thank you Medstead and Four Marks now (January 2015) have enough housing developments that the local service and schools can not cope with. The whole ethos of the community is being undermined by EHDC. The need to encourage young adults to remain within the area with employment and affordable housing The need to stop all future MAJOR developments. the amount of traffic and it's speed through our village is a concern. Perhaps some permanent enforcement cameras may be a short term solution. A bypass would be by far the best solution. Different aspects/questions could really apply to either Four Marks or Medstead Thank you for all your hard work. There should be no acceptance of allowing building on existing farming land, whatever it is used for i.e. grazing or growing of crops, or the nature of the application. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW MEDSTEAD TO TURN FROM A VILLAGE TO A TOWN AS YOU HAVE IN FOUR MARKS. TOO MANY HOUSES ARE BEING BUILT AT THE SACRIFICE OF OPEN COUNTRY AND DRIVING VILLAGERS AWAY. Wind and/or solar farms would be worse than more housing. It struck me as odd that the Coop was allowed to have a small store. It competes head on with the Tesco, but both are small, so both have limited ranges of products. We really should have had a proper local food shop, or a larger Coop. Clearance and upkeep of bridleways to help horseriders avoid roads where possible The town needs a heart not yet another small shopping centre. Future plans should bring shopping amenities together in the centre of Four Marks not have a third centre. We feel that the 20 mph limit and the pond project are a waste of taxpayers money. please note we are new residents of just over a year's standing There is a desperate need for a Post Office in Four Marks which does not appear to have been addressed in this questionnare The recommendations included in previous plans do not seem to have been given a high enough priority. Will this change this time? The speed of traffic has increased significantly since the introduction of the white line down the centre of Lymington Bottom Road and we feel it will increase even more when a foot path is introduced. The verges of the A31 are covered in rubish LET'S HOPE THAT SOMETHING REALLY POSITIVE ORIGINATES FROM THIS EXERCISE? The local C of E Church is a great place to go We are very concerned about the increased traffic in Boyneswood Road and over the bridge when all the permitted sites are developed stop treating the place like a rural village, it isn't any more. build residential with infrastructure, shops and schools as part of the entire plan. maybe minibus system for school runs As someone who lives in one of the new houses, I feel its wrong to complain about development as it gave me the opportunity to live here, but I am now questioning, if it was such a great opportunity after all. Protect our meadows, hedgerows and wildlife (flora & fauna). We really do need a village pub. It is an outrage that The Windmill was changed to a co-op. The traffic through Four Marks is too fast and I would welcome more traffic calming measures (see Selborne village as an example). Thank you. Four Marks / Medstead are fabulous places to live but the overdevelopment of the area with no investment in infrastructure is beginning to severly impact upon the whole community to a really detrimental effect. A change of circumstance, for example no longer being able to drive, would hugely alter our response to many of your questions ( we are well into retirement) Provision of traffic lights or roundabout at junction of Telegraph Lane and A31 to slow traffic and to enable easier access. our objections to planning proposals seem to be ignored. Four Marks will covered in concrete soon such a shame for future generations not to see greenery & fields. it seems that money & greed are prevalent & ordinary peoples wishes are ignored We have loved living in a Medstead for the past few years. However, we feel the mood changing with constant development, threat of green spaces being eroded and ever increasing traffic. The village will become a town with none of the benefits. Medstead and fourmarks can just about be considered villages. Further developments risk them merging into a small town. As a horse rider I would like more off road tracks as the increase traffic can be nerveracking I live in a caravan, there was no box for that. I am not the only one! We live in this area because we like a rural, village life. F.Marks is fast becoming less rural but without the facilities I.e. School, surgery, parking areas to cope. More pavements and street lighting so residents can walk to the village centre facilities, public transport and interact socially with each other 24 hours a day. This is particularly relevant for the under 20s and for the elderly We do not have any mobile phone coverage at the present time and would very much welcome this. It is rather difficult to answer some of these questions because as things stand, facilities are very good but it depends on how many more people come to live here. Numerous potholes and poor road surfaces Our community is under siege from developers. A firm message needs to go out to EHDC, HCC and Defra that enough is enough! We have had to fill in this questionnaire twice as the first time by clicking "no" on question 15/16 it completed the questionnaire and we didn't get a chance to answer questions 20 onwards. Therefore your statistics are not going to be correct! Crime Prevention. Stop permitting developers to turn the area into a surburban environment with three storey buildings and houses crammed in too close together. Planning Officers should support the Parish Councils more in this. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE OVERDEVELOPMENT OF OUR AREA, ESPECIALLY IN AND AROUND BOYNESWOOD ROAD!!!!!!!!!!! Noise from A31 as it leaves Four Marks towards Ropley - the road surface needs to be quietened next time it is resurfaced. Also plant trees near it to reduce the level of noise suffered by local inhabitants Can the London train be linked through to the Four Marks station? That would be very useful! A good survey thank you. We have lived in Four Marks since September 1983, and finally someone has asked for our views on these important local issues. Thank you and well done! The development in the so called 'South Medstead Area' is now out of the control of our elected councilors at EHDC and is firmly in the control of the developers with their appeals. THIS NEEDS TO STOP NOW I am not against further development but only if the facilities etc can meet the demand which currently they cannot. In Q23 to what village are you referring? Are the schools being increased in capacity to match the houses being built? They should be. water pressure and supply is a consideration, particularly for residents of Boyneswood Road. Can our current water supplies sustain further development? Nothing Thanks for a great survey!
