Dear Friends and Colleagues:
The Michael-Gene Kids Basketball Foundation will host its 4th Annual Black Tie
Affair event on Saturday, August 22nd, 2015. The event will take place at the
Oceanfront Crowne Plaza, in Indialantic. We are asking local businesses to
support this event to help Brevard County families in need. In return for your
support, your company will receive acknowledgement in our event program and
the good feeling of helping Brevard families.
Over the last four years, the Michael-Gene Kids Basketball Foundation has
provided school supplies, Holiday dinner baskets and Christmas gifts to Brevard
families. Each year, as the number of families we help increase, so does our
need for community outreach. In 2014, we provided 60 fully stocked, Back-ToSchool Backpacks for children and partnered up with the Space Coast Basket
Brigade to supply over 600 Thanksgiving Dinner baskets! We were also able to
collect, wrap and deliver over 1,500 Christmas gifts to give to families for their
holiday celebrations to make our Brevard children's wishes come true.
Another amazing gift we were able to provide again this year, was our
sponsorship of 8 Melbourne PAL Basketball teams. Our foundation has also
sponsored the Translife Organ and Tissue Donation's GR8TODON8 5K for the
last two years. All of these accomplishments were possible through your local
business donations and community support.
We are asking for that amazing support again this year with our 4th Annual Black
Tie, through sponsoring a table or donating auction items. With your
sponsorships and donated items, we can expand our reach to more families in
need. This event helps raise money to provide children with a chance to be part
of a PAL Basketball team. These leagues strive to keep children healthy, drug
free and build their self esteem to provide them with a more positive future. The
money raised will cover the cost for registration, uniforms, coaches, etc. for each
team member. With increased community support, we hope this year to expand
our sponsorship to West Melbourne!
Community outreach is #1 priority for the Michael-Gene Kids Basketball
