We currently treat skin cancer patients that we typically or historically were not able to treat with other modalities.” Elevate your cancer treatment program with Skin Electronic Brachytherapy (eBx®) by Xoft®. Ken B. - Skin eBx Patient Transform the treatment of NMSC By offering Electronic Brachytherapy (eBx) utilizing the Xoft System, radiation oncologists are able to partner with local dermatologists to treat non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) patients. The Xoft System utilizes an isotope-free miniaturized 50kV x-ray source to deliver targeted radiotherapy directly to the lesion. The low energy source offers fast dose fall-off, minimizing radiation exposure to normal healthy tissue. The treatment is non-invasive and painless. Unlike traditional radiation therapy options, Xoft eBx typically requires a total of eight fractions per lesion administered twice weekly for approximately six minutes per lesion. Skin eBx is particularly beneficial to patients who may find it difficult to comply with the three to four weeks of daily visits required by other radiation treatment options. Attract and retain your patients Grow your practice » Painless, non-invasive treatment option » » Ideal for challenging anatomical locations (face, scalp, lower legs, ears, elbows) » Treatment in a standard exam room (minimal shielding requirements) Targeted treatment results in excellent (93%) cosmesis » Increase patient volume » Mobility allows system to be used in multiple locations/centers » » » Treatment option for those not ideal for surgical excision e.g. comorbidities, blood thinning medications After Before 68-year-old woman with eye squamous cell carcinoma below Same 68-year-old left eye treated with 10 mm woman with squamous surface applicator using 40 Gy to cell carcinoma 20 a 3 mm depth. months post-treatment. 72 year old man with squamous cell ear carcinoma on right antihelix. Cost Effective Radiation Treatment Option “Treatment of non-melanoma skin cancer with HDR electronic brachytherapy using surface applicators was effective” and “a convenient non-surgical treatment option for non-melanoma skin cancer patients.” NMSC lesions were treated with Electronic High Dose Rate Brachytherapy using surface applicator to a dose of 40 Gy in eight fractions, delivered twice weekly with minimum of 48 hour interval. A 10-50 mm surface applicator was selected to allow for complete coverage of target lesion with acceptable margin1.
