The following rules shall apply to all shows:
1. The Open Breeding show will be sanctioned by the American Boer Goat Association (ABGA) and their rules
shall govern. The ABGA full list of rules can be found on their website at www.abga.org. In case of a discrepancy
or for rules not properly covered, the show committee’s decision and or the judge’s decision are final.
2. The breeding classes will use the birth dates as listed on the registration certificate to determine the class
divisions. The show date will be the base date to determine all ages.
3. All goats entered in this ABGA sanctioned show must be registered with the ABGA in order to participate in the
show and acquire Ennoblement points, as per updated AGBA rules. The original registration certificates will be
required unless the animal is under 3 months of age then a copy of a registration application that is stamped with
the date by one of the listed associations will be accepted. Animals must be registered in the name of the exhibitor
and must have been owned by the exhibitor on or before the date of the show.
4. All ABGA entries must be in place with all registration papers checked in with the show secretary, by 10am the
day of the show. Pens will be available on a first come first serve basis.
5. For the breeding classes, if at least two entries by show were received on or before the postmarked deadline then
any additional animals can be added at regular fee price in the same show as pre-entered. Substitutions are
allowed in the same class. NO refunds. A $20.00 service fee will be charged on all NSF checks.
6. All animals must be in good health. No visible signs of abscesses or any other contagious diseases (pinkeye,
soremouth, ringworm etc.) will be allowed. Any questionable or unhealthy animals checked by the veterinarian
will be at the exhibitor’s expense. The Champaign County Goat Council reserves the right to excuse any animal of
questionable health.
7. All out state animals must have health papers (including recipient does) and proper tests needed by the state of
Ohio. All out of state exhibitors must be at the grounds at 8am on the day of the show to have health papers
checked by the veterinarian or they will not be eligible to show and will forfeit all entry fees. No health papers are
required for Ohio goats.
8. All animals must comply with Ohio scrapie rules: contact the Ohio State Veterinarian at 614-469-5602.
9. The Champaign County Goat Council and/or The Champaign County Fairgrounds will not be held responsible
for any loss, damages or accidents.
10. Any exhibitor, family or spectator not acting on an honorable manner will be required to leave immediately
and will not be allowed to return for the remainder of the show.
