SPECIAL RULES – READ CAREFULLY
IMPORTANT: Read carefully all GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS, YOUTH DIVISIONS RULES AND REGULATIONS and all
HEALTH RULES AND REGULATIONS.
1. THE DEADLINE for Youth Dairy Goat entries is September 22. Entries will close sooner if capacity is reached. See General Rules
Entry Requirements for additional explanation. Enter online or mail entries to Arizona State Fair, Livestock Entry Department, 1826
West McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85007.
2. ENTRY FEE: $10.00 per head for each animal is required and must accompany official entry form.
2a. Include a copy of your Dept. of Ag. Seasonal pass along with your entry form.
3. Animals must be clean and ready for the show ring at time of check-in.
4. First bedding will NOT be provided but will be available for purchase at the feed store, or you may bring your own.
5. Exhibitors must have a release from the feed and bedding provider before livestock release will be issued by department
superintendent. The department superintendent will assign a release time for each exhibitor to control the flow of traffic onto the
fairgrounds and into the barn areas. All vehicles must be removed from the barn areas prior to 9:30 am each day.
6. Muzzles made with mesh material may be used on an animal ONLY if the animal is bedded on shavings or straw, no synthetic
materials (carpet) are used for bedding AND the exhibitor creates an educational poster about the proper use of Muzzles and
displays the poster on the animal’s pen. This is in addition to any posters entered as a Special Exhibit.
7. Stalls/Pens, wash racks and aisles must be kept clean at all times. A stall card displaying exhibitor’s name, animal’s name and club,
chapter or organization must be posted on animal’s stall or pen.

1. Show Whites, or appropriate attire must be worn in the Show ring. (See Youth Livestock General Rules)
2. No Milk Out is required prior to the show.

COSTUME PARADE: Open to Youth Dairy and Market Goat Exhibitors. Animals and/or exhibitors in costume. To be eligible
you must sign up by 6:00 pm Friday, October 24 in the Youth Goat office. Entry must be accompanied by a narration
describing costume, suitable for show use. Trophies will be awarded by the Arizona State Fair.

EDUCATIONAL EXHIBITS - Youth exhibitors are invited as individuals or as a club/chapter project to display an educational
exhibit (not previously used) to be on display in the appropriate barn during Youth W eek of the fair. Judging will be based on
educational Content, Neatness and Originality. Exhibitor name(s) are to be written on the back of exhibits only. A $25.00 award
will be provided for an outstanding individual exhibit and outstanding club/chapter project. No entry is required, BUT must
check the exhibit in with the department Superintendent and identify the project as a Club/Chapter Project or an Individual
Project.
