Millbrook Newsletter a Dear Parents, At last I can report that the extension to the car park has been agreed, this will take place over the summer holiday. The pergola will be moved and we will lose a small section of the playing field however we have ample space so we will not notice the difference. Parent review was very successful this week with many parents completing our parent review feedback sheet. Thank you for all the positive comments, we will collate them together and report them back to you. Next week we welcome April and the Spring break for children. Let us hope the children finish with some good weather. They deserve some rest and time to play out after working really hard this term. Please read carefully about the Kirkby Attendance campaign. We have a great school with fantastic children, = staff, governors and parents. We must improve our attendance levels if we are to compete with other local schools. Help us to do this. The first week after the Spring break is Kirkby Attendance Week. The Kirkby Collaborative of Schools have produced three special attendance award certificates together with £5.00 Argos vouchers. Our school will choose three children to achieve the awards to recognise a particular effort they have made to improve their attendance. The certificates will be presented to the children on Friday 24th April. There will be a prize draw on Friday 24th April for children who have attended every day of Attendance week. The Collaborative has provided a £10 Argos voucher for the winner selected in our school. Remember you have to be in it to win it!! Next week there will also be a Kirkby Collaborative attendance competition. Children in all schools in the Kirkby Collaborative will be encouraged to design an attendance poster for all Kirkby schools, and a Kirkby attendance slogan. The one we have used so far is It’s Cool to be in School in Kirkby. We are sure you can help your child think of an improved one! Prizes will be presented to the winners. Let us aim to be top of the Kirkby Attendance League. We need to move to 96%, this means less than ten children off each day.
