Planning Assistant
The Town of Milton has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Planning Assistant to join
our team. This position performs a number of administrative support tasks in the
Department of Planning and Economic Development. The successful applicant will be
motivated with a sharp attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities of this position include:

Responding to inquiries from the public and developers
Reviewing all planning and zoning applications for completeness and providing
technical advice
Recording and filing complete applications
Preparing agendas, public notices, mailings, special reports and correspondence
Office management to include creating purchase orders, processing invoices for
payment, file management, website updates, scheduling meetings, primary
phone support and systems development for work flow
Calculating fees for planning and zoning applications
Listening to recorded meetings and developing the official minutes
Requirements:

Associates Degree or at least 2 years relevant experience providing
administrative office support
Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong communication skills both orally and in writing
Ability to effectively and accurately explain complex information
Commitment to public service
This is an AFSCME Union position with a starting pay range of $15.50-$17.50 per hour.
