Election was made into the acclaimed 1999 movie directed by Alexander Payne and starring Matthew Broderick and Reese Witherspoon. It raises funds to supplement and expand municipal support for library services and collections, a Small Grants Program for library staff, technological assets and capital expenditures. Having completed a major renovation and systems upgrade in 2009, Milton Public Library is a vibrant community cultural center and usage is at an all-time high. In the last year, over 400 programs were offered for people of all ages at the Library and the number of digital downloads from Library collections, including eBooks, Audio books, and music, more than doubled from the previous year.
