Purpose:
This report presents an application for funding under the Council's Community Fund
Programme.
Executive Summary:
An application for community funding has been received from Ms Beth DavisHofbauer, Director of Live Art Local CIC, for the sum of £4249.32 to purchase
display equipment and to pay for printing and advertising costs for their Fareham
Arts Festival project.
Live Art Local CIC is a not-for-profit organisation, aiming to promote the arts locally
whilst providing opportunities so that the arts are accessible to all, with particular
focus on those who would not have the opportunity otherwise. Regularly holding
local events, the organisation allows for local artists to share their work whilst
introducing members of the community to a variety of arts.
Taking place over nine days, Fareham Arts Festival will be utilising spaces
throughout the borough of Fareham to deliver a varied programme of art, music,
drama, dance, film and spoken word to the local community.
As well as showcasing talented local and national performers and artists, the Arts
Festival will enable members of the community to become involved in the arts with a
variety of workshops being held with local colleges and Portsmouth University.
Visitors to the Arts Festival will be able to enjoy free art exhibitions, street theatre
and music and will also be able to partake in open mic events.
The funding requested will be used to purchase equipment for the festival; including
display boards, wall hanging poles and fixings; as well as design work, poster and
programme printing and advertising to enable them to successfully promote the
event.
Councillor Bryant and Councillor Mrs Bryant are in support of this application,
however have requested that receipts of all expenditure are produced to justify the
contribution.
