MOGA Board Meeting Minutes Date: April 7, 2015 Officers Present: TJ Jones Brian Keene Aki Yasuda Doug Braun Paul Dinardo Craig Annis Bob Greene Others Present: Absent: Eddi Renio Carol Russell Call to Order Motion by: TJ Meeting started at: 8:05 Jim Hooyman Ross Dupuis Seconded by: Reports: Secretary: Annis • Accepted as presented, motion by Dinardo, 2nd by Yasuda Treasurer: TJ for Hooyman • Issue on chit resolved, TJ has check for reimbursement $750.00 • Accepted as presented, motion by Dinardo, 2nd by Annis Membership: Keene • MOGA membership now at 302 full memberships + 80 handicap only for total of 382, included in these numbers are 37 new full memberships and 17 handicap only. • Slightly off from 2014 numbers • Some confusion on monies paid with applications. Will review form and clarify dates as they apply to application. Tournament: Yasuda • Avg. participation in events down an average of 90 players • 60 Players signed up for MOGA Club Championship • Total of 75 players attended and played in Wealth Management Tournament. First place team was each awarded a 4 some at Arizona Grand GC. Bob Lawson won Grand Prize of a Taylor Made Driver. • Oakwood/Cottonwood Home & Home has full roster of 64 players, 4/9 & 4/11 play dates • Member/Member 4/23, 10AM, Chapman format, burgers & hotdogs served after at Pro Shop • Reviewed MOGA handbook and website player list, discussed doing handbook every two years, and updating website every year. Also looking at option for some form of book, listing member’s contacts to be updated on off years from handbook. Craig, Aki & Brian will review and come up with something by May meeting. • Reviewed Blue & White tees and discussed it seems to be working, is new, and some confusion, but generally, by AGA rule, the stroke differential balances out tee box difference. • Reviewing Welcome letter at May meeting. MOGA Board Meeting Minutes New Business: • President is asking that we find about 15-20 members willing to volunteer, helping to score events, set up tables & chairs, do clean up and take down tables and chairs, and any other items that require manpower. Will also be posted in the Splash. • Discussed possible conflicts with 9-hole league in summer while one course is shut down. President agreed to contact and work out details. • Discussed matter of continuing concerns over 10 event rule and whether it is affecting our MOGA events and participation in general, and also creating ill feelings among the group. Motion was then made by Doug, 2nd by Yasuda to remove this rule, effective immediately. Passed unanimously.
