See you in 2015! - Montessori Australia

2015 Montessori Events
The Montessori Australia Foundation’s event program for 2015 is designed
to meet the needs of Montessori educators, carers and parents supporting
human development at every stage of life, as well as Montessori school
principals, business managers and administrators, and Montessori centre
owners, managers and operators.
Our program reflects the feedback and suggestions from past participants
and MAF subscribers and incorporates an impressive range of topics and
presenters. We invite you and your learning community to support this
significant Montessori professional development initiative.
We continue to provide opportunities for updates, in depth learning in
specific areas, collaborative learning from presenters and peers, as well as
increasing parent knowledge in both small and large settings.
The scope and reach of our events program for 2015 is unprecedented and
we look forward to meeting friends old and new around Australia, as we
continue to co-create our vibrant and supportive learning community.
For further details and bookings, please visit us online at: montessori.org.au and
like us on Facebook at: facebook.com/montessoriaustralia for regular updates.
See you in 2015!
CONSULTATION FORUMS
In March 2015, in five capital cities, Consultation Forums will continue to focus on consultation with schools and centres to
seek your advice and views on what you would like from your national body. We will focus on the key issues affecting schools
and centres, as well as provide a brief update on our strategic direction and operational initiatives. Dinner will follow so that
you can take the opportunity to network with your colleagues.

PARENT TALKS
We are excited to have Dr Steve Hughes return to Australia in 2015, following an
extremely popular and well-received tour of our capital cities in 2014. Dr Hughes will
give two talks in this year’s tour.
LIFE, THE UNIVERSE AND EVERYTHING: MONTESSORI IN THE
PRIMARY (6-12) YEARS
10 September 2015, Brisbane and 14 September 2015, Canberra
Want to know how Montessori primary supports your child in discovering his or her
unique identity and place in the world? In this engaging talk, Dr Hughes will describe
how Montessori in the primary years supports the academic, cognitive, social, emotional,
and moral development of your child as he or she embarks on the adventure of a lifetime:
to discover “life, the universe and everything”.
IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT ME: VALUES, MORALITY, AND SOCIAL
DEVELOPMENT IN THE MONTESSORI ADOLESCENT COMMUNITY
9 September 2015, Sydney
15 September 2015, Beechworth
16 September 2015, Melbourne
Your child’s Montessori journey doesn’t have to finish with the end of the Primary Years.
In fact, there is so much more that Montessori can offer the young adolescent! Dr Hughes
will explain how the Montessori prepared environment for the Adolescent supports the
development of true confidence borne of having made a contribution to the social group,
an understanding of who they are, what they can do and a preparation for taking on the
bigger challenges which await this next generation.

AMI ORIENTATION TO ADOLESCENT STUDIES
28 December 2015 – 29 January 2016, Sunshine Coast
For the first time in Australia, we are proud to support the
presentation of the AMI Montessori Orientation to Adolescent
Studies. This course offers an overview of Montessori’s
approach to adolescents within the framework of human
development. By exploring Montessori theory in depth for
this age group, the participants will come to understand the
contribution of the third plane as crucial to the development
of the individual and will be significantly prepared to aid
development during this important time of life. The course will
be delivered by NAMTA faculty members with support from
senior Australian Adolescent practitioner advisors.
