Dear Parents,
Tomorrow we will have two chickens visiting EYFS and Y1 to introduce our next term’s topic of
‘Amazing Animals’ and to support learning before the Easter break.
We are extremely excited about this visit and we know that the children will gain a lot academically,
socially and emotionally from contact with these animals.
We have conducted a full risk assessment and we need to inform you about this visit and highlight to
you that occasionally children can have allergic reactions to close contact with an animal. Children
with allergies may get a runny nose, a scratchy throat, or have itchy eyes, ears or skin. We are aware
that children can also be anxious when around animals. Please let us know if you have any concerns
about this.
If you do not come in to see us or e mail us (addresses below) we will assume your child may have
contact with the chickens and any other animals that may come into school from time to time.
Many thanks
Miss Booth and Mrs Woolley
