THE COG - RCM Meeting 1527 Bulletin 15 April 2015
President’s News
President’s Corner – David Lloyd
Wednesday night’s meeting was indeed a busy one. Tim led us through a great brain storming
segment in all areas of the club’s activities / protocol. The information gathered will be processed for
the relevant committees and then on to the Board.
There was very good positive discussion and most members present had their glasses half filled!
Thursday night’s quiz night was a great event run by the Sturt Rotaract Club. Morialta had a significant
attendance even though there were some members who confirmed their attendance did not appear.
For those of our members attending the Conference in Ballarat, please drive carefully
I know you will all have a great time. It’s a pity that due to various member’s conflict of dates, there are
some not able to attend, including myself, even though Blackwells are one of the major sponsors!
For those of us left behind we will have a wonderful night this Wednesday at the Afghan Restaurant.
As always if you’re passing the kiosk at any time over the weekends, call in and have a coffee with
your colleagues.
If you are persistent, you will get it.
If you are consistent, you will keep it.
Looking forward to seeing you Wednesday evening. Take care, David

Morialta - Strategic Planning Session last week
Many thanks to members who attended the Strategic Plan session last week, the exchange of ideas
and input was terrific.
We also appreciated the comments in writing at the end of the meeting. This will help the Morialta
Board put together a balanced program for the next two years.
As indicated, the process from here is for Tim and Brenton to summarise the input from last week and
prepare a plan of action for the new Board to prioritise. The final plan will then be brought back to a
members meeting in June for approval.
It is great to see such enthusiasm and commitment from members to our objectives over the next
couple of years
If you were unable to attend this meeting, please send me an email with your ideas on club activities /
priorities for the next two years.
Again, many thanks to Morialta members, we hope you found the session productive and enjoyable
Regards Tim Mee

Received by Graeme Packer – CARA Sunday Picnic 2015
My apologies for not contacting you directly after our Sunday Picnic event – with the residual picnic
pack up and a short week for Easter this is the first opportunity I’ve had.
Sunday Picnic was a great success and this year saw record crowds in excess of 500 people. We
simply could not put this day on without the support of the Morialta Rotary BBQ team, and thank each
and every one of you for your time and energy. Your organisation and expertise ensured the lunch
service ran smoothly. We’ve had some great feedback on the day already. Kind regards Natalie

Message from Norm O’Flaherty
I am now back from Howlong and I attended a meeting of the Corowa Rotary Club and also worked at their
market in the Park on Easter Sunday, and then helped with their packing of a 40ft shipping container they are
also sending to Vanuatu. Here is a photo of the group with me in it. They have great fellowship and I attended a
BBQ for the workers after and had a really great afternoon with the members.

ROTARY RACE DAY
Rotary International is excited and proud to announce our partnership with the South Australian Jockey Club in
the running of our Rotary Race Day.
Rotary is the world’s oldest and largest service organisation made up of over 1.2 million individuals in 215
countries who volunteer to do good in the world.
Rotary clubs bring together dedicated individuals to exchange ideas, build relationships, and take action. Our
clubs also offer members opportunities to make new friends, and enjoy fun social activities.
Each Rotary club is supported by Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation. Rotary International supports
Rotary clubs worldwide by coordinating global programs, campaigns, and initiatives benefitting communities
locally and internationally.
The Rotary Foundation is Rotary’s charitable arm which funds projects by Rotarians and our partners in
communities around the world. As a non-profit entity, all of the Foundation's funding comes from voluntary
contributions made by Rotarians and friends who share our vision of a better world.
With an expected public attendance of over 5000 people we invite you and your organisation to partner with
