Principal’s Message
Dear École Christine Morrison Families:

Welcome back! We hope that everyone had some
time to enjoy fun activities with your children over
Spring Break. Thank you to all of our parents who
were able to attend report card conferences during
the week before Spring Break.
Now that spring has finally arrived we are looking
forward to a busy and productive final term. We have many exciting events planned for
the last term of the school year.

Our students will begin the “Kids on Wheels” program sponsored by our PAC On Friday, March 27th.

We will be visited by the Cops for Cancer team on Monday, March 30th. Jump Rope
for Heart takes place on April 15th.

Senior students will be receiving skipping instruction on April 16th & 23rd.

Parents are invited to attend the Bully Back Off presentation by Steve Andrews on
April 14th @ 7:00 pm.

Our Kindergarten and Grade 1 students will participate in the Mukwa Tepees
presentation on April 24rth.

Run 4 Water takes place in the afternoon on May 20st.

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART will be held on Wednesday, April 15th from 8:30—11:30 am
Last year we raised $6,520.33 and this year our goal is
$6,500.
Over the past Ecolé Christine Morrison’s Jump Rope For

IMPORTANT - FOOTBALL
A meeting is being held Thursday, March
26 at 7:00 p.m. at Hatzic Secondary for Gr.
6/7 students (and their parents) who are
interested in playing contact football next
year. This meeting is for students attending either Hatzic Middle or Heritage Middle
School next year, as we’re hoping to start
this program at both schools.
We encourage anyone who is remotely interested in playing to come out.
This is for both girls and boys!

Bus Transportation Registration
2015 - 2015 School Year
Families are advised that registration of students who will
be seeking bus transportation for the 2015-16 school years
will run from May 4st through June 30th, 2015. In order to
ride a district school bus all new and returning riders must
register. School District policy applies to all applications
and can be viewed here on our website.
Students that qualify to use district transportation services but who have not registered by June 30th will not be guaranteed a seat on a bus. Any registrations received
after the June 30th deadline will incur a 20% surcharge fee.
Registration can be done in person at the School District Office at 33046 Fourth Ave
during regular business hours 8:00am – 4:00pm M-F. If you are unavailable during
those hours, alternate arrangements can be made by calling 604.826.6286 ext. 3246
T-SHIRT SALES
We would like to sell our Ecolé Christine
Morrison t-shirts for Track and Field.
An order form will be sent home with the
students on April 2nd, 2015.

MISSION LIBRARY EVENTS

Wiggle Time
Wednesdays, April 1-May 20, 10:30-11:30 am
No Need to sit still! Introduce your toddlers to the joy of
books in a fun and friendly atmosphere! Kids will enjoy a half
hour of interactive rhyme, songs and stories, followed by half
-hour of play and social time.
Story time - Fridays, April 10 - May 22; 10:30-11:00 am
Enjoy interactive stories, songs, rhymes, and more.
Story time prepares children to learn to read.
Spring’s the Thing to Make You Sing! Puppet Show
Tuesday April 14, 6:45-7:30 pm
If the signs of spring make you want to burst out into song, then
this is the story time for you!
Come to the library for a special musical story time complete with
a fabulous puppet show. Fun for the whole family.
Local Poets Corner - Saturday April 18, 2-3:30 pm
In honour of National Poetry Month, listen to
several local poets and be entertained with
their poetry for adults and kids alike.
