ESM Calendar Factsheet - Lincoln Heights Elementary

 Elementary Support Model Calendar To ensure that students are well supported in their learning, WCPSS is considering the proposal of a Continuous Learning calendar for the 12 elementary schools that fall under the Elementary Support Model, beginning with the 2016-­‐17 school year. First, it is important that these schools’ families and supporters be informed about the proposed calendar and have the opportunity for input. Some facts about the Traditional and Continuous Learning calendars: Traditional Continuous Learning Families are accustomed to and comfortable Less time needed to transition back into school with this schedule routine Students may or may not participate in Continuity for support for families educational activities during the 11-­‐week summer break Less summer learning loss Summer school opportunities for students after Continuous cycle of learning the school year ends Track-­‐out time utilized to provide more immediate remediation and previewing after each nine weeks
