Kettle Rock Farm LLC W114 Hooper Rd Palmyra WI 53156 (262) 215-5175 Kettle Rock Farm Summer Season Farm Worker Kettle Rock Farm is a 3 acre vegetable farm located just north of Palmyra and a few miles from Kettle Moraine State Park. We grow over 40 different types of veggies and herbs, which we sell to farmers markets, food coops, and restaurants around Whitewater and in the Milwaukee area. We have been working towards our organic certification for the past few years and plan to be certified this August. We are currently hiring for a summer farm worker who would assist with planting, weeding, harvesting, washing, and selling produce. What to Expect Farm work is a great opportunity to spend the summer outdoors, get some dirt under your fingernails, and experience firsthand what it takes to grow local and sustainable food! We offer a lively and friendly work crew, and surplus produce is available for employees to take home! In exchange, we expect hard workers who are focused and observant. Farms work is performed in all weather conditions and is often physical, repetitive, and/or strenuous. We have very high quality standards, but in addition to careful work a farm depends on fast work – time is money! Working on a small crew requires constant coordination and communication, so employees must play well with others. No experience is necessary, but a good attitude and a strong work ethic are a must! Dates and Compensation This position begins in early June and ends in late August, exact start and end dates are negotiable. Work days are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday – the exact hours will vary somewhat depending on the day, but in general it will be 9-10 hours a day not including an hour lunch break (or 36-40 hours/week total). The starting wage is $8.50 an hour, with the possibility for bonuses or raises for good performance.
