ost Blessed Sacrament Parish is a welcoming community which comes together to implement Christ’s mission. We join to teach,
to evangelize, to accept and to encourage ourselves and others in ongoing spiritual growth. Serving and supporting those within
and beyond our parish remains a major focus as we recognize that each of us is called to be a witness to God’s love in our world.

IMPORTANT PEOPLE
Every pastor will acknowledge the fact that no parish could possibly survive for very long without the many good people who devote their
time and talent to the community. We have many and are grateful.

Volunteers are needed to help MBS provide food to
120 people on Saturday, April 25, 2015
MBS supports the Walk in Dinner program at the Bergen
County Housing Health and Human Service Center in Hackensack. This new
facility will allow us to help a greater
number of less fortunate people.
Please sign up to make a meatloaf or rice dish. If you
would prefer not to cook there is a list of many items
needed to help with our dinner. The sign up poster is in
the back of the church. The volunteers will be meeting in
front of AMBS school to collect all donations at 3:00 pm
on Saturday, April 25. Remember the food must be
cooked, hot and wrapped in newspapers to stay warm.
Anyone interested in helping to serve on Saturday from
3:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Sign your name and phone number
on the poster, I’m sure you will find it to be a rewarding
experience. Any questions call Stella Fellinger at 201891-7172 or Tricia Howland at 201-651- 9458. We appreciate your help!
Second Sunday of Easter
(or of Divine Mercy)
April 12, 2015
Who indeed is the victor over
the world but the one who
believes that Jesus is the Son
of God?— 1 John 5:5
“The community of believers was of one heart and
mind and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own.” - Acts 4:32
All that we are and all that we have is a gift from
God! Think of your family, your friends, your talents and abilities – these are all gifts from God.
We aren’t really owners of anything, we are
merely “stewards” of the gifts God has blessed us
with.
Eucharistic Adoration at MBS
“Could you not watch one hour with Me?”
Some of us are able to remember Bishop Fulton
Sheen, who was an American bishop of the Roman
Catholic Church known for his preaching and especially his work on television and radio (1895-1979). He conducted the first religious service broadcast on television, and his
radio broadcasts had a weekly listening audience of over 4 million people. His cause for canonization as a saint was officially
opened in 2002. In June 2012, Pope Benedict XVI officially
gave Bishop Fulton Sheen the title of "Venerable".
On the day of his ordination as a priest, Venerable Fulton
Sheen made two resolutions. One of those resolutions was to
spend a continuous Holy Hour every day in the presence of our
Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.
When asked why he felt so strongly about this, he said that
the only time Our Lord asked the Apostles for anything was the
night he went into His agony. As you will recall, after the Last
Supper, Our Lord took His Apostles to the Garden of Gethsemane. He then took three of them, Peter, James and John,
with Him and said, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to
the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me." But
they fell asleep….which is why there came out of His anguished and lonely Heart the sigh: "Could you not watch one
hour with me?" Our Lord’s plea was for an hour of companionship…..and Venerable Fulton Sheen was compelled to fulfill
Our Lord’s request every day of his life.
We invite you to ‘watch one hour’ during Saturday Adoration. The Church of the Most Blessed Sacrament has Adoration
every Saturday from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm. Jesus is present ….
Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity….and we have a chance, like
Venerable Fulton Sheen, to fulfill Our Lord’s request.
Although we invite you to drop in whenever you can and for
as long as you are able, we really need adorers to sign up and
commit to a specific hour each Saturday. If you can commit to
a specific hour or even to a specific 30 minutes, please call
Rose Stone at 201-677-0761.

RCIA
The community of Most Blessed
Sacrament invites all to a deeper love of
Jesus and to a fullness of communion with
the Church.
The Rite of Christian Initiation for
Adults (RCIA) is a process where adults are
welcomed into the Catholic Church.
Do you know someone who is thinking about
becoming part of the Catholic Church? Are you the nonCatholic spouse of a parishioner who is wondering about
full communion with the Church? Are you an adult
Catholic who, for whatever reason, "missed" one or more
of the sacraments of initiation (First Holy Communion
and/or Confirmation) while growing up?
Anyone interested in learning more can contact Father
John at 201-891-4200 x28.
We hope everyone had a beautiful and blessed Easter! Only a
few more meetings in our Youth
Ministry year, so we can't wait to
see you all and catch up at our
next meeting this Sunday, April 12th. If you are a high
school teen in our area you're welcome to join us!! And
we're back to meeting in the Youth Room so come on by!
Just a reminder that we're still collecting art supplies for
the children at Hackensack University Medical Center
during the month of April. Our Youth Group will be putting
care packages together for the children and the more
smiles we can bring, the better! If you're not able to get to
the store but would like to make a donation and have our
teens select the items that would also be greatly appreciated!! Please contact Jen at [email protected] with any
questions! Thank you for your continued support of all
that our teens do!
Thank you for your continued
support and generosity to our church!

SPRING PRAYER
Dear God: Spring is a metaphor
for change. Some changes we
eagerly await, and some we
abhor. Some changes we plan
and others arrive uninvited. To all these
changes we ask the gift of Your perspective
beckoning us to expectation, hope, and rebirth.
May the sunlight and the rain be reminders that
You are at work renewing the earth. As a God of
renewal, You are ever at work in our lives, too.
Open our eyes and lives to the needed changes
in our lives this Spring. Awaken us to new life
and perspective, for we pray in Jesus' name.
Amen.
