making disciples by bringing people into membership in
God’s family, guiding them to maturity in His image,
equipping them for ministry through His Church and
empowering them for mission in His world.

Job Overview-
The position of Director is an executive position over the weekend church ministry to children ages
nursery-sixth grade. It includes working with an existing staff of experienced teachers, giving
administrative oversight, direction, teacher training and recruiting for an active weekend ministry.
Children’s Ministry DetailTo provide vision and oversight for all aspects of ministry to children from birth through
elementary school.
To recruit, train and encourage volunteer leaders for children and family life ministry.
To develop and oversee weekend, and summer ministries for children, for the purpose of spiritual
nurture, evangelism and family health purposes.
To collaborate with other ministries as needed.
To create ministries to equip and encourage families for loving, lasting relationships.
To create and maintain a safe environment through the development of policies, training and
procedures for volunteers, together with ensuring a safe physical environment.
To actively participate in the Mountain Park Church community.
QualificationsA strong commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
A degree in education; Masters preferred
Trained, knowledgeable and experienced in early childhood development
An open, friendly and charismatic demeanor in all leadership
Organized and capable of administering a ministry with a strategy to grow
Compassionate and empathetic leadership gifts and abilities relating to working with
children and their families
Experience and demonstrated excellence in leadership
Ability to teach and communicate
Personal qualities of professionalism, integrity and executive initiative
Administrative effectiveness and ability to supervise
Theological beliefs, faith and convictions consistent with those of MPC
Ministry Structure-
The Director of Children’s Ministry will report immediately to the Senior Pastor and to the
Elder Board
Hours and Classification-
The Director of Children’s Ministry is a part-time Director position with compensation and
benefits commensurate with experience
