Among the most important decisions you can make are what treatment to get and where to get it. You may have questions such as: } Where should I go for the treatment of my particular type of cancer? } Can I get the care I need in my local community? } Should I get a second opinion before I make a decision about my treatment? Cancer Resource Services (CRS) is pleased to be part of your health care coverage. Through this program, experienced cancer nurses can provide information and help answer your questions. They can also arrange for your access to cancer treatment services or second opinions at a cancer center within the CRS Centers of Excellence network. Potential benefits resulting from treatment at a CRS Centers of Excellence network facility include the following: • A higher rate of accurate diagnoses and fewer complications •C are that is planned, coordinated and provided by a team of experts who specialize in the various types of cancer, including rare cancers •A ppropriate therapy (neither too much nor too little) • Higher survival rates, shorter length of stay and decreased costs The Cancer Resource Services Centers of Excellence Network Why is it called a Centers of Excellence network? Because the cancer centers within the network provide: } Comprehensive, highly specialized teams of experts with extensive experience in cancer diagnosis and treatment, including rare cancers. } Second opinion services if you are unsure about your diagnosis or what treatment is right for you. } Experience in performing a large number of cancer surgeries and other complex treatments and procedures. } Access to newer treatments that may be the best option for you.
