PRESS RELEASE For immediate release - MRC des Collines-de

PRESS RELEASE For immediate release NEW TRANSIT SERVICE LAUNCH: TRANSCOLLINES LA PÊCHE, April 10, 2015—Transcollines, the new public transit service in MRC des Collines‐de‐
l’Outaouais will start operating on June 15 this year. In response to the community’s initiative, Transcollines will promote sustainable mobility as well as development of local communities in Les Collines. To let users and residents try out the new service, no fare will be charged from June 15 to 30, 2015. More routes and greater frequency To provide users with greater flexibility in their travels, the new service will offer greater frequency with extra runs added to those already operating in Cantley and Chelsea municipalities, especially the option of a mid‐day round trip. The service will also provide expanded geographic coverage by including sectors not previously served, especially in the municipalities of La Pêche and Val‐des‐Monts. Routes will also be added to provide Gatineau users with access to Les Collines. A fare structure based on needs Users will have a choice of three service types. An intra service will provide access to Transcollines services located within the administrative boundaries of MRC des Collines‐de‐l’Outaouais (the municipalities of Cantley, Chelsea, La Pêche and Val‐des‐Monts). Users with “Intra” tickets/passes will not be allowed to board or get off Transcollines vehicles within Gatineau city limits. A regular service will provide access to the entire public transit network operated by Transcollines. Finally, a combined service will provide access to the entire Transcollines public transit network as well as the STO and OC Transpo systems. Promoting universal access To promote access to public transit for all MRC des Collines‐de‐l’Outaouais residents, Transcollines will offer a variety of transit services. One public transit service will cover the municipalities of Cantley, Chelsea, La Pêche and Val‐des‐
Monts. This network will provide more routes and greater frequency connecting with Rapibus stations and other secondary transfer points within the City of Gatineau. In addition, a partnership with STO will provide Transcollines riders with a fully integrated service and combined fares for access to the services of both transit systems, as well as a single ticketing system. … 2 ‐ 2 ‐ If other needs cannot be met by mass transit, a supplemental transportation service to complement the regular routes will be made available to users. Depending on needs and the resources available, various transportation solutions will be provided. This service will be accessible to all Collines‐de‐l’Outaouais residents without restriction based on their condition or the reason for their travel. For those unable to use regular public transit due to a disability, Transcollines will provide an adapted transportation service for the seven (7) municipalities in the MRC—Cantley, Chelsea, L’Ange‐
Gardien, La Pêche, Notre‐Dame‐de‐la‐Salette, Pontiac and Val‐des‐Monts. A single ticketing system Through a partnership with STO, Transcollines users will enjoy fully integrated service with a combined fare structure to access the services of both transit systems as well as a single ticketing service. The MULTI card will be accepted in both networks and Transcollines users will also have access to the OC Transpo system under the same terms applicable to STO users. Users therefore will be able to purchase their MULTI pass at all STO service points (see www.sto.ca for details) or at the Transcollines service centre (at 5 Principale West in the Sainte‐Cécile‐de Masham sector of the Municipality of La Pêche).
