HOLIDAY HOMEWORK
Note to the parent:
a. The students have to individually prepare the topics assigned to them on coloured A4 sized
sheets.
b. As per the topic each child has to:
Find the information- Definition or meaning, important dates if any, categories, pictoral
illustrations, practices to follow or conservation methods, etc.
Collect the pictures.
Collate the data in sequential order like designing a catchy cover page, index, list of
resources used while making the project, acknowledgement, content of the project and
conclusion.
Put it in a folder and submit it to your respective subject teacher on the first day when
the school reopens.
Page limit- 4-5 sheets.
INTEGRATED PROJECT TOPIC -1 SAVING THE WORLD
ENGLISH:
1. A. Vocabulary that Saves the Day
Start by going over essential vocabulary, anything that relates to the environment or recycling
practices like paper, glass, plastic, organic, recycle, etc…Make sure you introduce vocabulary in
context through examples that clearly illustrate the meanings of the words. Then review these
words by using the Earth Day Word Search, Natural Disasters Word Search, The Environment
Word Search, or make your own with our fabulous Word Search Creator!
B. Imagine a future scenario, in 500 years, in which the world has lost most of its forests. Many
ecosystems have been lost forever. What happened? How and why did the forests disappear?
Write a one-page story with illustrations.
(Describe the landscape in the present tense. Describe what happened in the past tense.)
SCIENCE:Make a project report onWHO: Health for all. Include a brief descriptionof vaccination
programs organized by WHO which has helped reduce the Infant Mortality Rate and death rate
in India.
MATHEMATICS: Prepare a pie chart depicting the different pollutants( Suspended Particulate
Matter)t found in the Delhi /NCR for a week.
SOCIAL SCIENCE::“ Global warming isn’t a prediction.It is happening.”Global warming is not a
conqueror to kneel before – but a challenge to rise to. A challenge we must rise to.
Keeping the above mentioned lines in mind. Draft a 2 pages report on Global warming and its
effects on marine animals with descriptive pictures.
INTEGRATED PROJECT TOPIC-2: PEOPLE WHO MADE A
DIFFERENCE
ENGLISH:
A. BIOGRAPHY
Leo Tolstoy - Russian writer and philosopher
Bill Gates - Founder of Microsoft
B. For your project Choose a person you believe made a difference:
an artist, a writer, a musician, a political figure, a military leader, a scientist, an explorer, an
inventor, a sportsman/woman, etc. Write about the person, the historical and socio-economical
background in which he/she operated and the contribution which that person made to society.
HINTS
(Write an introduction in which you explain why you have chosen this topic. It is a paragraph
that introduces the topic, the topic question and reason for choosing it – all in your own
words.The introduction should be at least of 150 – 200
words, in a form of a composition.)
 Introduce the person you believe made a difference.
 The introduction must include the reason for your choice.

SCIENCE:Find about famous people who have touched the lives of many. You may write about
VargheseKurian(AMUL Industry), Bill Gates( Bill & Melinda gates Foundation). Dr. O. P Bhalla( Dr.
O. P Bhalla Foundation) etc .Discuss aboutthe philanthropic contributions of these people in
INDIA.
MATHEMATICS: Collect information about some philanthropists ( 5)who have played a major
role in shaping the society. Make a table about their age, annual income and how much
percentage of wealth they give to charity.
SOCIAL SCIENCE:“Divide and rule, a sound motto. Unite and lead, a better one.” The world
has seen great leaders and these made a difference in the way we live our lives. Your task is to
highlight and write the great ideas of the following political leaders.
1. Aristotle who introduced democratic form of government. (1-2 pages)
2. Martin Luther- Idea of Equality. (1-2 Pages)
INTEGRATED PROJECT TOPIC-3: GOING GLOBAL
ENGLISH:
A. Stereotypes – who are we? Examine stereotypes about yourself and your
community/nation, and also interrogate your own prejudices about “others.” Compile
an essay with series of illustrations.
B. Create a story titled ‘We Are the World’ with lot of illustrations .(250-350 words)
SCIENCE: Find about the recent development of Monorails, BulletTrains, Satellites in India and
how these have helped in ensuring that India is progressing and making a mark globally.
MATHEMATICS:
Collect information about the Gross Domestic Product of India in the last five years. Make a bar
graph which shows the comparison.
SOCIAL SCIENCE:
Write an outline of the following.
1. Bringing the world together with the help of trade and cultural exchange (1-2 pages)
2. Growth of Eco tourism and medical tourism. (1-2 pages)
INTEGRATED PROJECT TOPIC -4:THE GENERATION GAME
ENGLISH:
A. SURVEY : Memory Lane – From Then to Now
 Prepare a questionnaire of 10-12 questions that you would like to ask any six adults about their
views on science and technology. (One person should be from your parent’s generation and the
second person should have recently passed out from school or college) You could ask them
about their happy memories of the time without mobile phones, and other such gadgets. Also
note down some amusing anecdotes and an not so pleasant memories of their inability to use
technologically advanced gadgets.
 Write an article based on the results of your survey and sum it up with some suggestions .
 You can incorporate the following topics in your survey:
Their age
Major changes witnessed by them
Adaptation ( difficult or effortless)
Things from the past that have lost their relevance.
Any interesting anecdote
What they like and dislike about recent technological advancements.
Some photographs of their early childhood days .(Optional)
Any apprehensions /suggestions/expectations/

SCIENCE: Discuss the generation gap between use of technology between you and your grand
parents and write a detailed summary about it.
MATHEMATICS:
Collect information about the average age of individuals of each family residing in your locality (
10 houses). List the information neatly in a tabular form.
SOCIAL SCIENCE:“The health of a democratic society may be measured by the quality of
functions performed by private citizens.”
Analyze and write about the role of youth in growth and development of our
country.(2PAGES)
INTEGRATED PROJECT TOPIC- 5:SEEING THE LIGHT
ENGLISH:
A. Write an autobiography of a well known public figure who has set an example by
showing courage and coming out as a winner after facing tough times.(It might be
fighting odds situations of life, surviving a critical illness etc.)
B. Create a poem of about 14 to 18 lines using rhyming words.

INTEGRATED PROJECT TOPIC -6: INVENTIONS THAT CHANGED
THE WORLD
ENGLISH:
A.
Hundreds of seemingly off-the-wall or amazing products become big hits for their
inventors because they're big hits with consumers. Create a comic script describing the
journey and success of 2-3 such inventions. (2-3 A4 SIZE SHEETS)
B. Write a letter to your friend telling him/her about the world of Robotics and how it is
changing the world.
SCIENCE:
Discuss any five inventions that changed the world. Include its applications,
Implementation and usage. Use A-4 sized sheets to write about them
MATHEMATICS:
List the 20th century inventions( any 10) which have made the lives of people easy and
comfortable. Make a table to show the data. Mention the approximate cost of these
gadgets when they were initially launched in the market.
SOCIAL SCIENCE:”Humans have always used our intelligence and creativity to improve
our existence. After all, we invented the wheel, discovered how to make fire, invented
the printing press and found a vaccine for polio. Write a brief description on how
wheel has transformed the world from stone age till modern phase
(21st century).? (2 PAGES)
