Since the maintenance of your sports floor will play a key role in the quality and preservation of it, we asked
professionals at Multi-Sports Surface, specialists in sports floor since 30 years, to inform you of their
recommendations. Proper and adapted maintenance of your coating will preserve the appearance, standard of
quality and level of performance while significantly lengthening it’s life cycle, helping you to make substantial savings.

3. Sweep
your floor with a dry pad to remove dust.
MSS Group recommends using the 48” MSS Speedmop and a microfiber with fringes to retain the dust.
Don’t just PUSH the dust... REMOVE the dust!
Wipe up any liquid spills immediately with the 48” MSS Speedmop
and a micropad. It is essential that the wet areas are cleaned and dried
immediately to prevent water damage or stain.

To remove shoe mark or other, stop bending over and rub until your
exhausted and try instead our Anti-mark tool, THE quick and easy solution! His ergonomic and lightweight design makes it easy to use and it
will not damage your surface. We recommend for prevention that you try
to avoid all shoes and hockey sticks that could mark your sports floor !
• Handle with care all items that could scratch your sports floor such
as all sports net, gymnastic beams, chair, table, etc. Also adapt
wheels, supports and other rolling equipment.
• Place entrance / walk-off mats designed to catch the dirt and grit
of heavy traffic before it gets in will help you protect your floor. For
better results clean and vacuum your mats daily.
• Never leave rubber mats, wheels or other items at the same place
permanently on your floor.
• Do not use the dust mop used in hallways and cafeteria for your
gym. Use specialized equipment such as the MSS Speedmop and
keep it exclusively for your sports floor areas.
• Do not use a dirty mop / microfiber to maintain your floor since you
risk damaging it instead. Ecologic, our MSS microfiber pads are
machine washable and reusable ! For easy cleaning try our Nylon
laundry bags.
GUM AND TAR REMOVAL
AUTO-SCRUBBER USER
Scrape any gum or tar with a plastic scraper and then rub the area with
mineral spirits and a soft cloth. If the gum is hard to remove, use a cold
source to harden and then scrape.
• Do not use black, marron or green abrasive pads for your daily cleaning.
• Use and maintain a good squeegee on your auto scrubber to collect
water efficienly.
• Do not use an auto scrubber on wood floors installed since 5 years
or more, refer instead to a cleaning system such as our MSS Speedmop system.
• For vinyl floors, immediately stop using the auto scrubber and contact
the MSS Group if the joints are open or if the surface is damaged.
SHOE MARK
4. Clean your surface using a wet pad and a neutral floor
cleaner that responds your floor coating specifications. MSS Group recommends using GYM CLEAN,
a neutral pH sports floor no rinse cleaner, with the
48” MSS Speedmop and a wet microfiber pad. MSS
Distribution certifies that GYM CLEAN will not damage or dull appearance of your floor finish.
5. Allow to dry and voilà, your surface is ready for use !

The MSS Group recommends that you do a full review with one of
there specialist of installation / maintenance before any floor care
product are used on your sports surface. There are several cleaning
products and technics out there and some are not suited for your
floor and may damage or worn them prematuraly.
To protect the finish, appearance and performance of your floor, it’s imperative that daily sweeping / mopping is conducted. Proper daily cleaning maintains the correct surface friction and athletic performance
characteristics by reducing slips and inconsistent stops. Dust, dirt and
debris are best removed with MSS Group recommended mop and
floor cleaner.

It is recommended to maintain a good ventilation ( air circulation) and
a suitable temperature ( above 12°C but below 26°C ) to preserve the
shape and appearance of the floor. For a hardwood floor, try to keep
the humidity level between 45 % and 55 %. If possible do not exceed
55 % in order to prevent moisture damage over time.
