Site descriptions:
Arla Foods site near Videbæk
Arla Foods is the 6th largest dairy company owned by more than 13.000 farmers from 7
different countries (Denmark, Sweden, Germany, UK, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherland).
The Arla site in Nr. Vium near Videbæk covers two individual but interconnected dairy plants
with a common WWTP. At the Nr.Vium site the delegation will be given an introduction to
the site and activities related to the BREF FDM.
Nr.Vium Dairy is one of 26 production sites in Denmark. Nr.Vium Dairy produces yellow
cheese which is sold in 40 different countries. There will be a visit to the cheese production
with focus on the environmental impact from this production and how we work with
optimizing the use of resources (milk, salt, water, energy).
Afterwards there will be a visit at the Arla waste water treatment plant receiving waste water
from 3 large Arla production plants. The WWTP has a daily treatment of 8000 m3 of waste
water. You will hear about how the 3 plants work together with the WWTP to prevent waste
water that can damage the biology in the WWTP.
Tulip sites near Aalborg
Tulip Food Company is a modern food processing company specialized in meat processing
that exports to more than 80 countries worldwide. Tulip Food Company is a company in the
