Twirler Audition Information 2015 Twirler Auditions for the 2015 edition of Marching Mizzou will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015. All applicants will perform the following two routines: Every True Son and Fight Tiger Applicants will perform a one-‐baton routine to Every True Son and Fight Tiger. Music and sound system will be provided at the audition. These songs are the fight songs of the University of Missouri and are available online at http://mubands.missouri.edu/sounds/index.shtml One-‐baton routine must include: High toss three turn If you have any questions, or require further clarification, High toss illusion or reverse illusion contact the director of Marching Mizzou, Dr. Brad Snow at High toss cartwheel, forward roll, or walkover Swing section [email protected]. Flip section All application materials should be submitted to: Horizontal section Optional, but suggested tricks: M2 Twirler Audition Roll section Attn: Dr. Brad Snow Finger twirl section 202 Loeb Hall Illustrate ability to be ambidextrous Columbia, MO 65211 Variety of poses Leaps, kicks and bodywork Song of Your Choice Applicants will perform a two and three baton routine to a song of their choice. This song must be between 2:00 and 2:30 in length and applicant must provide this music on an audio CD at the audition. Two-‐baton must include: All interested twirlers must submit the following items High toss with passes postmarked no later than March 1, 2015 in order to be High toss spin while twirling second baton considered for an audition: Showers 1) DVD of recent twirling that displays required audition Horizontal/vertical combinations elements High toss, low trick 2) Resumé Swing section 3) 3 letters of recommendation Flip section 4) 250-‐word maximum essay on why you desire to be the Optional, but suggested tricks: twirler at Mizzou Transition into two baton Tricks within Showers Upon review of submitted applications, invitations for the April 11 Simultaneous tosses audition will be extended. Not all those that apply will be invited Horizontal tricks to the final audition, so please make certain that all application Three-‐baton must include: materials are of the highest quality. Those selected to audition Juggles will receive a detailed letter further outlining the final audition Horizontal box (time, location, dress, etc.). Final audition results will be Vertical box announced by April 14 via the Marching Mizzou webpage at Three consecutive tosses http://mubands.missouri.edu/bands/m2 Optional, but suggested tricks: ______________________________________________________ Transition into three baton The April 11 audition is closed to the public and an outside panel Tricks within juggles of judges will be used throughout the adjudication process. The Simultaneous tosses Various types of juggles individual(s) selected will receive a stipend of $750. Candidates should complete the required tricks while completing the routine with additional tricks of their choosing. Candidates will be judged on completion of requirements, gracefulness and ability t o choreograph to music. The director of Marching Mizzou reserves the right to accept as many or as few twirlers as are qualified. All positions are considered a one-‐year appointment and a new audition is required each season.
