U12 Camogie
Our U12 camogie team is in full swing now for 2015. Any girls who have yet to return to the fold it is
never too late you always welcome. There are two more fitness camp sessions with Jean on Weds 18
March and Weds 25 March in the comp at 7 to 8pm. We will then revert to the pitch when the
clocks go forward, details to be advised. Next, there will be a series of U12 Blitz competitions,
starting Saturday March 28 and running for three consecutive weeks, through April 4 and April 11.
These blitzes will be fixed for evening time, precise details and venues to follow. Lastly, the U12
League will start on Thursday 7 May and will run for seven consecutive Thursdays
through to 19 June inclusive. Matches start at 6pm in all cases, we are grouped with Monaleen,
Patrickswell, Adare, Na Piarsaigh, Ballybrown, Crecora and Treaty Gaels.
U14/16 Camogie
Training in the Crescent Comprehensive will finish this week and move to Sunday mornings from
11am-12pm in the village pitch. Our U16's have their first match this Friday at home to Ballybrown at
5:45pm all support very welcome.
OurU14's have their first match of the season next Tuesday the 24th March away to Ballyagran at 6pm.
Well done to this age range and their coaches all who have put in tremendous work in to pre-season
training. The Camogie Club would especially like to welcome and thank Mick Lynch for agreeing to act
as lead coach for our U14’s for the year ahead.
Congrats
Congratulations to our members from the U13 and U12 panels who made their confirmation in St
Pauls school last Saturday. Some of the players are shown below.
Helemets
Do you have any helmets at home that you are not using. The club are always looking to have spare
helmets for the younger children.
There is a very good condition second hand medium helmet for sale. If you are interested in this please

RIP
Sympathies to the Dee family on the recent passing of Eugene (Janey) O'Sullivan, father to Elaine Dee,
her husband Ger, grandfather to Louis (U16/15 player in the club) and Helena. To their families and
friends.
Condolances also to the Bulfin family on the passing of Catherine (Kitty) Baragry, mother to Teresa
Bulfin, her husband John, grandfather to David and Kate both players and supporters of the club. To
their families and friends.
Family Table Quiz
Thank you to all who attended or sponsored a prize at the table quiz on Friday night. This was
organised by the U16 Hurling coaches and was well attended. It was great to see so many young heads
enjoying the quiz. It was a close race to the finish but in reverse order the winners were in third placeThe O'Mearas/Beattys- Clare, Justin and Vera O'Meara with John Beatty. Second place went to the
O'Brien/ Duffs -Donal and Meave Duff with Gerry and Sinead O'Brien. First place went to "The
Mungret Muppets" Caroline and Colin Kenny, Brian Lynch and Martina O'Halloran.
Gael Scoil an Rathin Table Quiz
Gaelscoil An Ráithín are hosting a family table quiz on Sunday 22nd of March in the Mungret Club
house starting at 5pm. €15 per table. All brains are welcome to his event. Bingo at the interval for the
children.
Mungret 10K
The days are getting closer to the Mungret 10K which takes place on Sunday the 17th of May. The day
before (Saturday 16th) there will be a childrens race and an obstacle course. You can book your place

Best of luck to our set dancers representing Mungret St Pauls GAA club in the Munster Senior Scór
semi final in Cappamore on Saturday 21st March at 8pm. Please come and support them.

Child Welfare Course
The County Board are facilitating a Child Welfare course in the club next Tuesday the 24th of March for
all sections of the club at 8pm. It is now mandatory that all those over 16 involved with teams in any
capacity need to complete this course. Any one Coaching or involved with a team that have players
under 18 must also do the Child Protection in Sports Awareness Workshop. If you are available to take

Junior Camogie
Our junior team continue with strength & conditioning training on Monday evenings at 7:30pm up
until the end of March. We had our first outing on the field last Sunday evening playing a challenge
match V Cappamore Intermediate team. Despite Cappamore been a grade above our girls were very
competitive and gave a very good account of themselves. Once again should anyone be interested in
playing junior camogie with the club please contact Sinead Hickey on 0867801547.
U10 Camogie
Training commences next Wednesday 25th of March from 6-7pm in the Crescent Comprehensive. We
are very lucky to have Padraig Hickey from the Camogie Association volunteering with this group over
the next 6 weeks so we would encourage all girls to turn out and get the benefit of his training.
Camogie Association Easter Camp
The Camogie Association are hosting an Easter Camp in Mungret St Pauls from Wednesday the 1st of
April to Friday the 3rd. The Camp will be run from 10-2:30pm daily and costs €20 per child. The camp
is targeted at all Limerick Camogie Clubs and caters for girls aged 8-12 years. The camp is facilitated
by qualified Camogie coaches under the direction of Ross Corbett, Regional Development Coordinator

Youth Information Workshop
As part of the ongoing development of our Healthy Club Programme all juvenile sections of the club
are in full support of our first ever youth information workshop to be held on Sunday evening the 29th
of March from 5-7pm. The session will focus in on three key areas of Physical Wellbeing,
Nutrition & Code of Conduct for players and is targeted at both boys and girls playing in the U14
&16 age ranges.

Cash for Clobber
We are fundraising again but this time all you have to do is empty your wardrobes of all the clothes
and shoes you and your family no longer wear. You do not need a collection bag just place in a big bin
bag. The bags are to be left in the left hand changing room. This is a great way to raise money for the
club and give your house a spring clean at the same time.
Topaz Cash for Clubs
Do you buy your fuel in a Topaz? If you do we need your help. Topaz are running a competition where
the club have the opportunity to win thousands of Euro. All you have to do is when you buy €40 or
more of fuel at a Topaz collect the sticker for Mungret. This competition will run until the 10th of May.
We will let you know where the collection point for the stickers will be in the next few weeks. Start
collecting.
Development Draw
The Development Committee are getting in contact with people who have supported the Development
Draw formerly the Mackey Draw. This draw is a form of fundraising for the club. 50% of the
subscriptions are returned to the club. You can pay the yearly €100 by a one off payment or by a
monthly standing order of €8.33. Draws take place every month from March on with a minimum prize
of €10,000. The committee look forward to your support which helps in no small way to ensure that
our young players can lead an active life. You can contact any of the committee members- Noreen
Moriarty, Trish Barry, Theresa O'Brien, Donal Fitzgibbon, John Furey, Noel Downey, Denny O'Dea,

St. Patrick's Day
We could not of asked for better weather for St.Patricks day. Our coaches, players (and parents) who
turned up to walk for the club represented the club very well and we thank all for supporting from the
side lines as well. The party continued back in the club house where the food was welcomed along with
the drink. We look forward to next year.

We hope we have kept the best til last. We would like to send on a big Congratulations to the Page
family on a new camogie and lady footballer. Both Niamh and John are involved in Camogie with John
doubling as a juvenille coach. John also was behind sending out the club notes every week for the last
few years. To big brother Harry and big sisters Zoe and Ella, they welcomed baby Nina on Wednesday
morning. Congratulations.
