U14 Ladies Football
On Sunday 29th March our U14s took part in this years Limerick County Feile championship. Mungret
were competing in the East division and hosted these matches in what can be described as Monsoon like conditions. The girl's first game was against Knockainey in the Village pitch. Mungret won this
game 3-1 to 0-0. They then moved to the senior pitch to take on Oola in the second game. This was a
tougher contest but the girls from Mungret worked very hard in very tough conditions to win out on a
scoreline of 3-3 to 0-1. This saw Mungret take on old rivals St.Ailbes in the East decider. This was a
very competitive game with both side not giving a inch. Mungret led at half time 0-1 to 0-0. The
second half saw Mungret manufacture a well worked goal after two minutes to see them pull ahead.
St.Ailbes fought back scoring a point but Mungret held out to win 1-1 to 0-1. They are now scheduled
to play the county semi final in the second week of April.

Sunday 29th March Matches
What a day for Mungret recording 3 wins in 3 matches in different codes. The U14 Feile boys were up
first at 11am against Adare and played a great game in gale force winds (not to mention the rain). The
ladies Football U14 Feile team had 3 matches to play today and came out on top of all three. Both these
Feile teams are now into the Semi Finals. Well done to both sets of teams and coaches.
While the girls were battling it out at home the Intermediate Footballers had a 1 point win over Gerald
Griffins. A close match but deserving winners. Well done men.

their hospitality where kids were feed and watered it is the home club to Galway Hurler Joe Canning

Youth Information Workshop
As part of the ongoing development of our Healthy Club Programme all juvenile sections of the club
were invited to attend our first ever youth information workshop on Sunday evening. The session
focused on three key areas of Physical Wellbeing, Nutrition & Code of Conduct for players
and is targeted at both boys and girls playing in the U14 &16 age ranges. It was well attended and very
imformative. Many thanks to our speakers Rob Hanley (Physio Company) Tara Scully (WIT
-Nutritionist) and Irene Hogan (National Child Welfare Ctte). Also as usual a big thanks to our
organisers.
Cash for Clobber
We are fundraising again but this time all you have to do is empty your wardrobes of all the clothes
and shoes you and your family no longer wear. You do not need a collection bag just place in a big bin
bag. The bags are to be left in the left hand changing room. This is a great way to raise money for the
club and give your house a spring clean at the same time.
Camogie
Mungret St Paul’s Camogie Club would like to acknowledge the huge contribution made to Camogie by
outgoing President of our Association Aileen Lawlor. Over the last three years we were honored to
have Aileen visit our club on a couple of occasions the first been a joint visit with Liam O Neill,
President of the GAA to launch Feile festivities in 2013 as well as officially launch our Healthy Club
Initiative. Aileen again took time out of her busy schedule to present medals at our inaugural awards
night in January 2014. Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Aileen will testify to her energy,
dedication and commitment to our sport, not just over her tenure as President but as a player,
administrator, referee and ambassador of our fine game. We would like to take this opportunity to
wish Aileen & her family health & happiness into the future and thank her for her kindness and
support of our club over the last three years.
Limerick Minor Camogie

the better of their Offaly counterparts on a score line of 2-8 to 1-9. This win qualifies the team for a

Galway at home. Keep an eye out on Facebook for time and location of the match all support is hugely
appreciated. Sinead Madden represents Mungret St Paul’s on the minor panel alongside her
