U21 Hurling
City Under 21 Hurling Championship Final.
Mungret and Kildimo/Pallaskenry contested the City Under21 hurling Championship in Clarina on
Sunday last. Kildimo/Pallskenry started in a whirlwind with Barry O'Connell's long range sideline cut
flying all the way to the Mungret net. This was soon followed by a pointed free from Darren O'Connell.
Mungret eased their way back slowly with a point from Brian Barry and with Conor Lenihan unerring
from placed balls the half time score was Mungret 0-5 Kildimo/Pallaskenry 1-5. Words of
encouragement at the interval did the trick for Mungret and they were a transformed side on the
resumption of play. Substitute Aaron Hickey followed a pointed free from Lenihan with a neat point
from play. Niall Mulcahy and Conor Lenihan added a further four points to see Mungret extend their
lead. Darren O'Connell struck for a goal and a point from Barry O'Connell kept Kildimo Pallaskenry
within reach but sadly that was the end of their scoring for the afternoon. Mungret added a further
goal and ten points to see the final score of Mungret 1-21 to Kildimo/Pallaskenry's 2-6. Mungret
emerged victorious and with tally from Conor Lenihan of no fewer than fifteen points, this would win
most contests at this grade and a Man of the match performance from Eoin Doherty at midfield who
worked tirelessly for the whole game. Mungret will offer a stiff challenge at County stage of the Under
21 Competition.
Scorers: Mungret Conor Lenihan 0-15 (0-13f), B Barry 0-1, A Hickey 0-3, N Mulcahy 1-2.
Kildimo/Pallaskenry B O'Connell 1-2, D O'Connell 1-3 (0-2f), J O'Keeffe 0-1.
Well done lads you have done your club very proud- now for the county !

U14 Football
The footballers took to the field twice in 2 days and in both matches they did the best they could. 100%
effort was put into the entire match but with unfortunate loss at the end their effort was not rewarded.
There will be better days ahead for this group.

U11 Hurling
Our U11 hurlers played out their last two Monday nights of the Spring League, on Monday 16th our
boys played Na Piarsaigh in the first game and were much too strong for our opponents, however our
second game was a much tougher outing when we took on Monaleen. We matched them in the early
part of the match but Monaleen introduced substitutions in the latter half of the match which saw
them score a number of goals and run out convincing winners. This Monday night gave us the
opportunity to exact some revenge on Monaleen when we played them in two twenty five minute
halves. We had twenty one players togged on the night and each of them have shown huge progression
over the last few weeks and that improvement was evident throughout the game with fantastic scores
coming from a number of players, the Mungret boys controlled the game throughout and ran out
worthy winners.
Sympathies
We would take this opportunity to convey our sympathies to the family of Mike McBrearty on his
sudden passing. Mike, formerly of Dromore Rise, Raheen and more recently of Monaleen, played
hurling with Mungret St Pauls throughout his early and teenage years before moving from the area
and also hurled for St Nessans NS and Crescent College Comprehensive, Ar Dheis De Go Raibh a Ainm
