HESS is seeking bids from qualified local and
minority business subcontractors and suppliers for
the Construction of Prince George’s County’s
Glenarden Woods Elementary School Addition and
Renovation Project in Glenarden, Maryland.
The overall MDot Certified MBE goal is 30%; with
subgoals of 7% certified African-American owned
businesses and 4% certified Asian-American
owned businesses participation. Locally based
small and minority owned subcontractors within
the geographical boundaries of Prince George’s
County are encouraged to bid with HESS. Non MBE
firms bidding are encouraged to solicit and utilize
pricing from local and MDot certified MBE
suppliers and subcontractors.

P R O J E C T D E S C R I P T I O N : The project designed
by Moseley Architects includes renovations and
additions totaling approximately 77,000 square feet to
the vacant School. The proposed construction will
consist of one-story additions located at the northern
and eastern areas of the existing school building as well
as the two interior courtyards. The additions will be
masonry framed and consist of interior columns with
some interior and perimeter bearing walls. Stormwater
management is required to accommodate the new
construction. This project is subject to prevailing wage
rates and is candidate for LEED Certification.
