WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE A LIBRARY TRUSTEE?
I feel that I have a lot of life and education experience to offer to the community. I would also bring
diversity to the Board.
WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTION YOU COULD MAKE TO THE LIBRARY?
I would bring diversity to the Board. Also collaborate the Main Branch with the Station Branch so
that we understand the different cultures and nationalities and their needs for a better through
education.
WHAT DO YOU FIND ARE THE MOST VALUABLE LIBRARY SERVICES TO YOU AS A
PATRON?
The most valuable services that I received came from staff at the Main and the Station Branch.
Because I live in the Huntington Station, I was able to learn the computer from Mary, Laura,
Maureen and staff. I can make flyers, tickets, raffles and write papers. Presently, I wrote the
NAACP’s 1st Newsletter for our Health Committee called, “Health News”. The newsletter contains
articles and pictures. I learned how to e-mail, research, and find information.
I would take my granddaughter to the Main Branch and the Station Branch for the programs. I
notice that the Station Branch carpet was not as clean as the Main Branch. I brought this information
to the Chairperson of the Board and wrote a letter. She informed me that it would be looked into.
Months later the community room carpet was changed.
