RaceForce Event Coordinator, Huntington Beach, CA This position reports to the Race Director, and is a full-time position based out of the Huntington Beach Area. The candidate should be professional in demeanor and flexible in the tasks and responsibilities they will work on. Honesty and hard work are attributes we wish to see from the ideal candidate. Tasks & Goals: 1. Event Permits Secure events permits from jurisdictional partners. Those are the cities of Huntington Beach, the MTA and the State of California. Additional permits/approvals are also needed from any venues we wish to use as part of the event. 2. Community Notification It is in our best interest to develop a plan that ensures the communities we run in and around are properly notified about the event, course, closures & durations, volunteer opportunities, etc. 3. Volunteer Recruitment We need approximately 2500 volunteers to work the start & finish lines, packet pick-up, and course water & fluid replacement stations. 4. Course Entertainment Solicit local music groups to play music along the route. Additionally solicit local radio stations to bring out their street teams and play recorded music on the route. 5. General Administrative & Customer Service Phones, voice & email 6. Orientation & Outreach Solicit running stores, clubs, and other races to build partnerships and participation in the event. Build a weekly training program and a running Ambassador Program. 7. Operations Plan Create a comprehensive plan that details everything that will occur race weekend, including medical and law enforcement staffing & locations, maps for the course, street closures, start & finish line, race day contact information for all participating companies, jurisdictions and individuals. 8. Staff and Coordinators Working with staff & race director, building out a team of coordinators who will own a portion of the event. Positions are start, finish, course logistics, course entertainment, packet pick-up, volunteers, etc.
