Proposals for individual and panel presentations, interactive sessions, and cultural sharing are now being accepted for the 20 th
Navajo Studies Conference (NSC), which will be held at Northern Arizona University (NAU) in Flagstaff, Arizona. The 20 Navajo Studies Conference theme is based on supporting our future through sharing the knowledge and experiences of Navajo people and communities. We want to highlight the wealth of knowledge and experiences of our Navajo people and our allies that sustain, revitalize, and support Navajo communities. We encourage proposals from youth, young adults, adults, elders – students, community members, academics, educators, professionals, government officials, artists, activists, and others. Proposals can focus on issues in one or more of the following areas related to the theme:  Agriculture  Film & Media  Philosophy/Theory  Art  Gender & Sexuality  Policy/Law  Community  Health &Wellness  Science/Cosmology Organizing/Planning  Culture/Spirituality  History  Social Justice/Activism  Education  Human Rights  Tribal Programs  Environment  Language  Youth/Elder issues  Governance/Politics  Literature  Family  Navajo Traditional Skills Proposals for sessions to be delivered in the Diné language are highly encouraged!! Format: Individual or Panel presentations, academic papers, films, poetry readings, storytelling, interactive facilitated discussions, or posters. Other formats not listed here will also be considered. All sessions are 1.5 hours. Individual proposals will be grouped into a panel with similar topic areas. Requirements: 1. Information page 2. Abstract/Summary of session Information page -­‐ Please include: • Name, Affiliation, Mailing Address, Telephone Numbers and Email Addresses for all presenters • Title of Presentation • Format – describe the format of the proposed session • Appropriate Area of Focus (Based on Conference Theme) • Requested Technology Abstract/Summary • Write an approximately 300 word summary of your proposed session topic and main ideas/conclusions • If you are proposing a panel, please identify all members and affiliations (abstracts are required from each panel member). th

Details to be announced.
