How the Satellite
Communication
solution works
The Qube 4 tracking device will
primarily connect via Telstra’s Next G®
network, but when the vehicle moves
out of cellular coverage it will connect
through the Satellite Communications
device to the Iridium Satellite network,
providing real-time tracking whether in
or out of cellular coverage.
Navman Wireless Product Sheet
Keep track of your workers and assets – whether in the city or
remote areas. It’s an important necessity when ensuring the
safety of your employees and your duty of care.
The Navman Wireless Satellite Communications solution enables you to
have visibility of and communicate with your employees, vehicles and
equipment whether they operate and travel in cellular coverage or not.
To help manage the cost of satellite communications, you have the
option to define which events are vitally important and should be
communicated via satellite, while low priority event data is stored on the
Qube 4 and uploaded when the vehicle is next in cellular coverage.
Satellite Communications
Applications
Increased Visibility and Communication
The Navman Wireless Fleet Tracking
and Management system with Satellite
Communications provides you with
accurate, real-time data so you can make
proactive and sound decisions.
OnlineAVL2 provides a breadth of visibility and reporting into how
your vehicles and equipment are utilised and the activities they
undertake. OnlineAVL2 will display each event generated, via the
cellular network or satellite, so you can manage the communication
channel used for reporting events.
• Locate vehicles, equipment and your
employees quickly and easily
• Improve protection and security of
your employees and assets
• Identify inefficiencies in vehicle or
equipment utilisation
• Analyse historical data for routes and
site visits to plan more efficient routes
and job allocation
• Manage vehicle or equipment service
maintenance schedule from the
OnlineAVL2 application, and receive
notifications of when service is due
• Protect your employees by monitoring
additional sensors to alert on vehicle
rollover, man-down, driver duress and
accidents
Activity logging
All events such as ignition status, Geofence entry/exit or
Overspeed notifications can be configured to be sent via satellite.
Individual events are logged throughout the day and events defined
as priority will be sent over the Iridium satellite network, whilst the
other events will be stored on the Qube 4 and sent when the vehicle
returns into cellular coverage.
Communication
By utilising our M-Nav messaging and navigation device, you are able
to communicate between the office and your field staff via satellite
too. Cost of satellite communications can be managed by individually
defining each message as priority for it to be sent over the Iridium
satellite network. All other messages will be stored and sent to the
vehicle when it returns into cellular coverage.
