WELCOME!
Dear Friends, Exhibitors and Sponsors,
It is with great pleasure that The North Carolina Hunter Jumper Association Board of Directors and
Annual Horse Show Committee welcome you to the 33rd NCHJA Annual Horse Show.
We are pleased to once again have the opportunity to present to you the Annual Show in celebration of
our membership and to recognize the many accomplishments you have achieved during this past year.
It has been our intent to continue the tradition of this quality show that you depend on as well as to grow
and improve it by offering a few new classes and a fun youth night. An exciting addition to our
Equitation Finals this year is a $1000 grant to the winners of both the EJ Haun and the Children’s
Medal. Of course the Bryan Jones Memorial Medal and the NCHJA Pony Medal Final remain an honored
part of our show as well. New this year we will be presenting the Take2 Thoroughbred League division, a
Groom’s class and opportunity classes for the young riders. We are especially pleased to be a recognized
USHJA World Championship Hunter Rider horse show for 2015.
Showcasing southern hospitality from a continental breakfast each morning, cocktail and dinner parties
each night to a “Bubbly Brunch” on Sunday, our members, guests and exhibitors will be treated at every
turn.
This year’s annual show will benefit in part Horses that Heal, a program that focuses on helping youth
with behavioral problems, at-risk youth, as well as serving active-duty military, retired and/or reserves and
wounded warriors and their families.
The success of our show depends on each of you... our members, exhibitors, sponsors, vendors and
volunteers. We thank each and every one of you for your part in this spectacular event!
On behalf of the show committee and the NCHJA Board….WELCOME! Please enjoy the show!

ABOUT THE COVER
Artist Stephen Filarsky paints equestrian landscapes "en plein air."
You can often find him with his canvas and easel painting at a horse
show. In addition to landscapes, he paints portraits, both people and
animals and creates hand painted and gold leafed signs. He entered
the horse world through his marriage to portrait artist and equestrian,
Theresa Brown. Their studio is next to their home in Granville
County, NC along with a couple of ponies, five dogs, two flocks of
chickens and honeybees to pollinate their gardens and sweeten their
lives.
