Sherman Reservoir SRA Sherman Reservoir SRA (imprint here) park information: Sherman Dam, located on Oak Creek, was completed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in January, 1962. Sherman Reservoir stores off-season water flows for release during the irrigation season. Fishing and power boating are the mainstays of this central Nebraska reservoir. Rugged drainage ways branch off the main reservoir body providing interesting bays and coves and outstanding fishing opportunities. Walleye fishing is good along the dam during the spring spawning run, and a few largemouth bass and many crappie can be taken in the bays. During summer, white bass and catfish can be caught nearly everywhere on the lake. An abundance of recreation sites are located intermittently around the reservoir offering primitive camping and day-use facilities, including drinking water, vault toilets and shelters. Numerous nature trails are also a fantastic way to spend time at Sherman Reservoir. Perhaps the most popular fishing spot on the reservoir, this small area provides pedestrian fisherman access to the supply canal immediately below the reservoir’s inlet structure. camping amenities: 360 non-pad sites without electricity contact: __________________________________ activities: Grab your safari hat before you head out... don’t have a safari hat?
