developed the following list of approved small animals and policies to help ensure that children and volunteers
have safe and meaningful experiences with these animals.
Approved small animals are:
Lizards
Dogs
Rats
Rabbits
Birds
Fish
Hedgehogs
Snakes
Mice
Chinchillas
Cats
Cavies - guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters
Amphibians - frogs, toads
*No wildlife allowed. Follow Dept. of Conservation rules as specified in the Wildlife Code of Missouri.
1. Open to all Adair County 4-H Clover Kids.
2. Pre-entry rules apply.
3. Clover Kids will have the opportunity to show their pet and speak with a judge regarding nutrition, grooming, or special
behaviors. Clover Kids are encouraged to show the pet about which they did their pet poster.
4. All pets must come properly restrained or contained. Appropriate examples include on a leash or in a box, cage, or bowl.
5. An adult must supervise Clover Kids and pets at all times.
6. Animal health requirements must be followed for all species.
7. Any female animal in season cannot be shown.
8. As with all 4-H Clover Kids events, the pet show is non-competitive. Participants will receive a participation ribbon.
