Netball Australia International Development Coach Register

Netball Australia International Development Coach Register
Application Form
Netball Australia (NA) implements sport development programs across the Asia-Pacific region, including programs that
use netball as a tool for social development. These programs involve utilising NA’s expertise to upskill local personnel to
be able to continue to deliver high quality netball instruction and activities. These programs offer a unique professional
development opportunity for NA-appointed personnel to travel internationally and gain coaching and presenting
experience in a range of settings.
NA is seeking registrations from qualified coaches who are interested in
joining the International Development Coach Register. Coaches who
join the register will receive further information on upcoming
opportunities such as:
 Delivering and assessing coaching courses at all levels of the Netball
Australia coaching accreditation framework;
 Training coaching course presenters and assessors;
 Running netball training sessions for program participants;
 Observing coaching course delivery and providing feedback; and
 Taking up short-term National Coach contracts.
In most cases, limited daily allowances will be provided, dependent on aid program funding availability and terms, and
all flights, accommodation and meals will be covered. Where possible for development programs, coaches will be
accompanied by a NA staff member. Specific details, requirements and responsibilities will be provided to those on the
Coach Register as opportunities arise.
Please note: candidates for the Coach Register should appreciate that any training provided will not always follow NA’s
framework and qualification pre-requisites, and any presenter should be able to continually adapt training based on the
needs and proficiency of participants. The aim of any training provided will be to increase access to netball for a range
of participants and ensure local personnel are able to continue running netball programs and activities, in a safe,
inclusive and enjoyable environment.
Applicants should be aware that international National Coach roles are not appointed by Netball Australia and as such,
payments and employment conditions are subject to the applicable National Netball Federation’s guidelines.
The ideal candidate for the International Development Coach Register should be:
 An experienced coaching course presenter at (at least) Foundation and
Development level;
 Able to take 1-2 weeks’ leave from work at a time and travel internationally (often
requiring an entry visa);
 Flexible and adaptable;
 Confident communicating with participants for whom English is a second language;
 Able to undertake a Working with Children check; and
 Familiar with inclusive coaching practices.
Experience in cross cultural communication will be highly regarded.
Once coaches have joined the Coach Register, NA will contact suitable applicants with
upcoming opportunities.
