Teen Challenge Choir
and Testimonies
Sunday, May, 24
Our morning worship on Sunday, May 24 will be led by a group of men
and women from Teen Challenge. Many of us know of Teen Challenge
through our own Enzo Racca. A few months back, Enzo was with us
and shared the miraculous work of God in his life as God has delivered
him from addiction. Not only is Enzo delivered from something bad,
but he has been saved for something good - a deep and loving relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
This group of men and women who battle various addictions will share
with us through song and stories, as they tell how God is working in
their lives to heal and restore. Please join us; we encourage you to invite friends and family, particularly those who may be struggling with
addiction of any sort, and who are in need of hope and healing.
After the service, those who would like to talk further with these men
and women are invited to join us downstairs for lunch. In order to help
us pay for lunch for ourselves and our guests, we are asking those who
want to stay to sign up using the form enclosed in the worship bulletin
(you must sign up by Sunday, May 17) and turn it in to a staff member, along with $5 person or $10 per family.

Give It All to Jesus
By Rev. Michael J. Born
If we would remember that we can’t fool God,
Then he’d be included on the paths that we’ve trod.
He would help us walk through them when we offer our prayers
If we would be honest and remove all those layers.
Our burdens would be lighter and there would be less snares
If we would just realize how much Jesus cares.
So give a great offering right from the start
By opening to Jesus the door of your heart.

Welcome to Stacey Jansen
Our New Church Secretary
We are very excited to welcome our new
Church Secretary, Stacey Jansen, to the
church staff! Her official start date was
Monday, April 20th. Stacey, her husband
Mike and her daughter Brittany are
already members of New Colony and have
been serving here since 2012.
Please be sure to introduce yourselves to Stacey. She may
already know your faces or your names, but may not be able to
put them together for quite a while. It would also be helpful if you
took the time to tell her if you are a member of a ministry team
and how you serve within the church. She can’t wait to get to
know you!
Stacey will be in the church office Monday-Friday from 8:3012:30. Please feel free to call her in the church office or email
her!

Girls Night Out at the
Melting Pot (May 8th)
The Ladies Ministry of New Colony Baptist Church is
inviting all Ladies to join us on May 8th from 7-9pm
for dinner at The Melting Pot in Bedford.
For those that went last year we had a GREAT time, so we decided to
do it again and we would love it if more Ladies could join us. This is
to celebrate all Moms, Grandmothers, Aunts, Daughters or any other
lady who may be important to you in your life. Elementary aged
children are invited as well (Boys included).
We will also have the opportunity for pictures to be done so you can
capture this special dinner.
Please let Melissa Meitzner, Kathy Gero or Amy Spach know if you are
coming. We will also send out an invite on Facebook. Please RSVP
by April 30. You may also RSVP to the church office or on Facebook.
Church Work Day!
Saturday, May 9th from 9-1
It’s been a brutal winter and our building and grounds have
borne the brunt of it! Please join us as we work together to
spruce up our place of worship. There are jobs for all ages
and abilities.
Super Summer Missionary
Gift Baskets!
Beginning in May we will be collecting items for a
Super Summer Missionary gift basket for Shealy
Smith and Savannah Beck. These young ladies
selected for us by the Georgia Baptist Convention
will stay with us from June 1 to the end of July,
helping us with our amazing Super Summer camp.
Shealy Smith
We like to welcome them with gift baskets filled with non-perishable
goodies, cards, toiletries and gift cards to treat them as they live in the
mission house this summer. Please look out for the gift basket beginning in May.
Lazarus House
The 1st-3rd graders taught by Adeline Jones and Desiree Duran are on a
mission! The children themselves came up with the idea of doing "a
mission" and, with the help of their teachers, began to explore
ideas. Desiree listened to their ideas and did some research, which
brought them to the decision to work with Lazarus House, a homeless
shelter in Lawrence. This month the kids and their parents will meet on
a Saturday morning to prepare lunch boxes (4 per child). The children
will make ham and cheese sandwiches and each box will include a
sandwich, a juice, a cookie, an apple, and a Bible verse (written out and
decorated by the children).
Lazarus House has never had a group of young children so interested in
their ministry and is so excited that they have changed their policies in
order to be able to give the kids and their parents a tour on the Saturday
morning that they bring the lunches! Pray for the kids as they minister
