NEW WEST ARMCHAIR AUCTION
RULES AND INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for participating in the New West Armchair Auction! Below you will find a
description and bid sheet for the outings that our New West teachers, principals and
staff have generously donated to this year’s auction.
The “Armchair Auction” gives each family an opportunity to bid on these incredible
donations from the comfort of your armchairs. Remember, all proceeds directly support
the wonderful programs at our school.
For your convenience, you may bid online at
https://newwest.formstack.com/forms/armchair_auction until 8pm on Friday, April
10th.
Or, you may print the bid sheet and return it to the front office by Friday, April 10th @
3:30pm.
Please read the following rules and instructions carefully.
IF YOU’RE BIDDING ONLINE:
1. Fill in the requested information and write the MOST you are willing to spend for
each item. Please note that there is a minimum bid amount and maximum # of
winners given for each outing. You may bid on as many items as you like. The
highest bidders for each item will win the outing. You may include your credit card
information, but it is not required. YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED UNLESS YOU
WIN. (Go to Step 4.)
IF YOU’RE USING THE BID SHEET:
1. Print the form and fill in the requested information. Write the MOST you are willing to
spend for each item. Please note that there is a minimum bid amount and maximum
# of winners given for each outing. You may bid on as many items as you like.
Please sign your bid. The highest bidders for each item will win the outing. You
may include your credit card information, but it is not required. YOU WILL NOT BE
CHARGED UNLESS YOU WIN.
2. Place your bid sheet in an envelope and seal it. (Do not send any payment with your
bid.)
3. Return it to your child’s teacher or put it in the “Armchair Auction Box” in the front
office. (Go to Step 4).
4. All bids must be PLACED ONLINE BY 8PM or paper bids turned in by Friday, March
21st, NO LATER THAN 3:30 p.m. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS!
5. If there is a tie, tying bidders will be notified and a run-off will be conducted via
sealed bid.
6. The winners’ names will be announced at school and posted on our website by April
12th. Winners will also be notified via email.
7. All winners must pay for their item(s) by April 19th.
8. Payment may be made by cash, check (payable to New West Charter), VISA,
MasterCard, American Express or Discover. Again, do not send payment with your
bid. Payments will be accepted only after winner notifications have been made.
All sales are final.
9. You are responsible for all of your winning bids. If you are bidding on multiple items,
please be sure you are willing and able to pay for all bids in case you win all of them.
TIPS FOR WINNING THE BIDS:
1. Bid high. These are incredible opportunities and are bound to be popular.
2. Bid creatively. We’ve all seen “The Price is Right.” Sometimes it’s that quirky bid of
$151.50 that wins the bid.
3. Coordinate with other families so your child can go on the outing with friends. Call
the parents of your child’s friends and decide on a bid that each of you will bid
individually in hopes of winning together. Remember, each bid is individual.
4. Don’t forget! Remember last year when you missed the deadline?
5. Have fun and be generous! Remember, all proceeds benefit the school and our
children!
