Hello!
We here at Next Wave are thrilled that you will be joining on a day-long journey around the 2012
Festival, so we have put together this little document so that you have the full low down. This is not your
ticket and it is not necessary to print, unless you would like some information to refer to during the
course of your day!
Otherwise, Next Wave Ringleaders will be on hand to suggest public transport routes and to help you to
navigate between venues. They also are a wealth of knowledge about the festival as well as all the good
places to grab a coffee or have some lunch.
Please keep in mind that, as this is Melbourne, there may be extreme sunshine, sideways rain and gusts
of wind simultaneously so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for your day. The B.O.M can
give you more up to the minute information. After all, they are the bomb. Hahahaha
We are also pretty excited to be able to offer you a Myki card preloaded with a fare for your travel on the
day, a Crumpler bag and a bunch of Next Wave goodies courtesy of our friends at Yarra Trams,
Crumpler, the Next Wave artists and us here at Next Wave HQ.
This is also your official invitation to attend this evening’s Opening Night House Party, 6.30pm at
Footscray Community Arts Centre. We’re planning awesomeness!

ITINERARY
10am Breakfast Club: This isn’t a movement, it’s a moment

12pm The Warmth of the Curve – Michelle Sakaris
Address: Bus Gallery Basement Level, Donkey Wheel House 673 Bourke Street Melbourne
Additional notes: The artist will be at the gallery and available to talk to visitors about the work.
2pm Creo Nova and Give Us A Look – Ben Kolatis & Alex Cuffe, Monte Masi
Address: Dear Patti Smith, Level 2, Paterson Building, 181 Smith St, Fitzroy
Additional notes: Please note, this work is a series of performances at the venue. Please be on time so that you don’t
miss out!
4pm Shotgun Wedding – No Show
Address: St Peters Eastern Hill, 15 Gisbourne St, East Melbourne
Additional notes: Please arrive fifteen minutes early so that you don’t miss the bride and if you like, it would
amazing if you are able to bring along some party wear to change into for this event. It is a wedding after all…
9pm The Exchange, Program 1 – Dewey Dell, Justin Shoulder

Additional notes: Please note, the performance starts strictly at 9pm so allow yourself plenty of time to get to the

Midday to 11pm, daily Wake up and wait for the sun to rise

Additional notes: The Next Wave festival art club Wake up and wait for the sun to rise is open every day of the
festival from midday to 11pm. There you can see…..
Til late Wake Up After Party
Address: 193 Bourke Street, Melbourne
Your itinerary for today concludes quite late but you are welcome to join us after 11pm at the Wake Up After Party
down the road at The Carlton Hotel.
Additional notes: Please feel free to advise security at The Carlton Club that you are from “Wake Up at Next Wave”.

Day Pass General Terms & Conditions:
For ease of entry, you may like to print a copy of your ticket and carry it with you, along with photo ID. The day pass ticket is valid for use on the day
specified only. Day Pass Concession ticket holders will be required to present their concession card at the door of the venues.
To begin your journey please meet at the Wheeler Centre (176 Little Lonsdale Street Melbourne 3000) at the time specified time on your itinerary (8am week
days & 10 am weekends).
Each day pass group will be assigned a guide for the day. Participation in itinerary is not compulsory, non-participation will not result in refund of day pass
cost.
If you purchased a day pass the following terms and conditions apply:
1 The Ringleader will make every effort to ensure that you arrive at each venue on time. However, no guarantee can be made and no refund will be provided if
performances are missed due to unforeseen circumstances such as public transport delay, changed weather conditions or changed traffic conditions.
2 Safety is very important. You must exercise due diligence at all times and follow all directions given by the Ringleader. Next Wave shall not be liable for
death, illness or injury caused to any person while navigating between venues. It is the patron’s responsibility to ensure that they are sufficiently
healthy to safely participate in the Festival.
3 Next Wave shall not be liable for any personal items that are lost, stolen or damaged.
4 You are responsible for ensuring that you have a valid ticket for any public transport that you choose to travel on.
5 You must not be intoxicated or under the influence of any non-prescription drug. Next Wave shall not be liable for any injury or damage that is suffered by a
person under the influence of alcohol or any drug.
6 You are responsible for your own actions and the actions of other persons included in your booking. Behaviour that is offensive or aggressive, that
diminishes the reputation of Next Wave, or that in any way interferes with another patron’s enjoyment of the day will not be tolerated. If you engage in
such behaviour, the Ringleader may ask you to leave the group.
7 The Ringleader will set meeting points throughout the day. If you do not arrive at the
meeting point on time, the Ringleader will assume that you are making your own way
to the next venue and may continue without you.
