One action at a time™
Use a broom to clean your driveway instead
of a hose • Install water-saving shower heads
and low flow faucets • Consider buying a rain
barrel to capture water for shrubs and lawns.
Learn to draw a Hands On giraffe!
To draw the giraffe, start with two long skinny rectangles next to each
other that become wider at the top. These are your front legs!
Beginning at the top of legs, draw a large oval extending to the right
and create the body.
Repeat the legs on the opposite side of the body and
leave a small space between them.
Place small trapezoid shapes at the base of the legs
to make hooves.
Outline a very long, skinny rectangle on right side of body starting at the
top of back. This rectangle should extend downward and an oval at the end is the tail.
Sketch a long narrow rectangle up from left side of the body for the neck.
Place an oval at top of neck to create the head, extending left and narrowing at the end to make
the nose and mouth area.
Now draw facial features. Squiggle for the mouth on left side, a half oval for the nose above the
mouth and a circle on right side with a line in the middle to separate the eyelid from the eyeball.
On top of the right side of the head, two small rectangles represent antlers and an oval shape on
each side extending out and narrowing at the tips create ears.
Spots are fun! Be creative and design all sorts of funky shapes. Remember there are no
mistakes in art!
