KILOMETRES THAT COUNT 2015 Charity Program ABOUT THE NIAGARA FALLS INTERNATIONAL MARATHON The 18th annual Niagara Falls International Marathon taking place October 25, 2015 offers several races for participants to choose from including a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon. The Marathon follows a scenic point-to-point route from Buffalo, NY to Niagara Falls, ON crossing the Peace Bridge. The Half Marathon starts at the halfway point of the Marathon course. The 5K and 10K offer an out and back loop design finishing near the beautiful Niagara Falls. Participants will run along the beautiful Niagara Parkway, voted as the most scenic course in Ontario in 2012. Other weekend events include the Expo and Running Room International Breakfast Run. FACTS: Boston Marathon Qualifier Over 6,000 participants Over 50% are aged 36 – 50 Household Income exceeds $75,000 1,500 Volunteers $8,500,000 in Economic Impact Charity Program Introduction The Niagara Falls International Marathon has launched Kilometres That Count as a Charity Program with the goals of raising funds for social impact and community good and fostering a spirit of community celebration. NFIM has made this a priority. This program will provide more value for charities and allow charities to participate in this fundraising opportunity in a meaningful and much higher level. Charities have an opportunity to engage runners who have agreed to run on behalf of their charity of choice and raise funds for their cause. Charities will also have an opportunity to receive donations collected from runners at the time of registration with a minimum donation of $10. Charities will receive branding awareness opportunities plus an enhanced marketing package from NFIM. Official Charity has the opportunity to reserve a limited number of race bibs for entry into any of the 2015 NFIM races. Reserved bibs must be paid in full to NFIM by Aug. 1, 2015. Generate interest for your cause. Engage runners with two social media campaigns including Facebook & Twitter posts and one email blast. Increase awareness with a charity branded Hydration Station or Marshals on course. Opportunity for team building. Opportunity to fundraise for the Charity in person at the Health and Fitness Expo. Terms and Conditions Charity agrees to provide a minimum of (25) runners with Opening Registration pricing until October 1, 2015. Charity must provide charity logo to NFIM. Charity agrees to promote NFIM on their website. Charity must provide online fundraising tools and support for runners. Charity must reach out and engage with the runners. Charity must clearly outline on the charity website details regarding tax receipts and where donor dollars go (charitable status required to issue tax receipts). Charity must register (10) volunteers to manage a Hydration Station or (10) Marshals on course. Charity must provide own tent for Hydration Station. Charities must submit an application by April 15, 2015 to be considered as an Official Charity Partner. The Niagara Falls International Marathon reserves the right to select charities for the program. The Charity is responsible for managing its own fundraising campaign and the total amount of money raised relates directly to the resources and efforts put into the program. NFIM will promote the program however the recruiting of runners to fundraise is the responsibility of the charity.
