Viking Whispers A variation of Chinese Whispers. Sit all the children in a circle and pick one to start the Viking Whisper. They will whisper a word to the child next to them and so on, until it has gone all the way round the circle and the last child announces what the Viking Whisper is. Frozen Dragons In this game, all of the children (except one or two) stand in a circle as if they are frozen dragons. Once they are settled, they are not allowed to move. The other two children walk around the circle and try to make the frozen dragons move by making them laugh, telling them jokes, and so on. The children are not allowed to touch the dragons. Once the dragons have moved, they must join the other children. The last dragon to remain frozen is the winner. Hiccup Says One person stands at the front and becomes Hiccup. Hiccup gives instructions, but only those instructions preceded by ‘‘Hiccup Says’’ are to be followed. If someone fails to follow such an instruction or follows an instruction that is not preceded by ‘‘Hiccup Says” they must leave the game. The last person remaining in the game other than Hiccup is the winner and will become the new Hiccup in the next game. Pirate Capers Be ar cu b The children form teams of equal numbers and line up behind each other. When the whistle blows the front person crawls between the rest of his team’s legs and takes their position at the back of the line. The new front team member follows suit and crawls through all the legs to the back of the line and so on. The first team to get all its players through is the winner. www.howtotrainyourdragonbooks.com www.hodderchildrens.co.uk ob be ra nd H iccup Viking Party Games!
