Site Safety Officer Location: Calgary, AB Nilex is actively seeking a Site Safety Officer that will support on site safety and ensure compliance within the company procedures and policies. This is a new position and offers a great opportunity to part of a growing business. Position Outline: This position will provide full time health and safety support to the on-site crew and will ensure that all practices are in compliance with regulatory requirements. Working with the Senior HSE Advisor the Site Safety Coordinator will manage the Coordination and administration of Nilex’s WorkSmart safety program to ensure compliance with the company procedures and policies. Duties & Responsibilities: • Administer and adhere to efficient and timely reporting of safety incidents and accident investigation. • Maintain man-hour logs and safety statistics. • Review and track documentation to insure all required onsite records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted as per established procedures. • Assist supervisors with daily safety talks. • Ensure that safety inspections are being completed on the project site to help identify hazards and correct them before they cause accidents. • Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees with safety initiatives and necessary changes. • Accompany all safety, health and insurance inspectors on walk through inspections. Position Requirements: • Minimum five years industrial/construction/operations experience with emphasis on industrial safety. • Understanding of applicable federal, provincial, customer site specific and company regulations. • Intermediate computer skills. • Has or is willing to obtain NCSO and Alberta COR auditor certification. As the successful candidate you will be a team player with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
