MAJOR OVERNIGHT WORK ON I-35W BEGINNING MAY 29
FORT WORTH, Texas – Listed below are overnight closures along I-35W occurring Friday, May
29 through Thursday, June 4. Note that all closures are subject to postponement due to
inclement weather.




There will be overnight closures of the on-ramp to southbound I-35W from Braswell
Drive on Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30, 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. nightly, and Sunday,
May 31, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic will be redirected to the next entrance at NE 28 th Street.
All lanes of eastbound and westbound Pharr Street at I-35W will be closed overnight on
Saturday, May 30 from 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. and Sunday, May 31, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
There will be a closure of all lanes of eastbound and westbound Pharr Street at I-35W
from Monday, June 1 through Wednesday, June 3, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.
There will be overnight closures of the on-ramp to southbound I-35W from Pharr Street
and the off-ramp from northbound I-35W to Pharr Street on Monday, June 1 through
Thursday, June 4, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for three nights. Southbound traffic will be
redirected to the Gilvin Street entrance; northbound traffic will be redirected to the
Northside Drive/Yucca Avenue exit.

conditions, and construction activities may be postponed if necessary.
This work is part of the $1.4 billion North Tarrant Express 35W project. This includes a section
that is currently ranked number eight on the state’s most congested roadway list along 6.5
miles of I-35W from north of I-30 to north of I-820 including the I-35W/I-820 interchange in Fort
Worth. The project includes the reconstruction of main lanes and the addition of TEXpress
managed lanes and will be complete in 2018.
