We started the afternoon with an English picnic, then made dragons after the famous George and the Dragon story. Neal Zetter – Poetry Workshops Year 3 had 2 great sessions with Neal Zetter this week. We focused on alliteration one day and Kenning Poems on the other. All the children really enjoyed the sessions and wrote some great poems! Lines that stood out were 'Salt sprinkler, mango Get in touch Tel: 020 8806 6352 | Fax: 020 8806 6315 | email: [email protected] Northwold Primary School – No sky too high masher, coconut cracker' in a Kenning poem about a chef and 'Flabbergasted Flamingos' in an alliterative poem about the zoo. Year 2 Trip – Unicorn Theatre On Wednesday 22nd April, Barbados and Poland went to the Unicorn Theatre. We watched a show called, 'The Velveteen Rabbit'. It was about a toy rabbit who wanted to be real. We really enjoyed it especially when they brought a real rabbit onto the stage. After the show, we had lunch by the river and played in the park. Mr Ali had lots of fun hanging upside down! Free School Meals – Free Check If you think your child might be eligible for Free School Meals, there is a free way to check this online. London Grid for Learning (LGfL) have created a website (link below), where you put in your child’s details and find out if they are entitled to Free School Meals. If they are, this will also entitle the school to additional government funding (called the Pupil Premium), which the school can invest in more staff and resources to improve our students’ education. Please click on the link to see if your child is entitled to Free School Meals - www.fsm.lgfl.net. If your child is entitled, the school will be informed directly as well. As a 'thank you' to parents for making a check, and as an incentive to participate (even if they believe their child would not be eligible), LGfL is making available free of charge the Sophos Anti-Virus software provided to LGfLconnected schools, to protect computers at home used by pupils. After School Clubs After School Clubs will start next week beginning 27th April. Please make you payments for all clubs by Tuesday 28th April, otherwise your child won’t be allowed to attend the club.
