TITLE: Rethinking Democracy, Governance and Quadruple Helix Model Abstract : It is widely assumed that democracy is having philosophical values as basic implementation by government toward society, in particular capturing relations between state and society. Philosophical values of democracy are from the people, by the people and for the people. Using System Theory of Easton democracy produces some institutions that describes of philosophical values. Value of from the people produces representativeness and participation. Value of by the people produces transparency, accountability and partnership. At meanwhile value of for the people produces responsiveness. All result known is indicator of democracy implementation. Managing relations between state and society is needed governance in order that democracy can be implemented well. Democratic governance becomes pivotal issue toward building good governance as main concern encouraging democratization process. He obtained his DBA from Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2012. He has worked for 24 years as an administrator before joining the academic profession. His current research interests are in the area of leadership, emotional intelligence, work ethic, and organizational behavior. TITLE: Leadership practices: New approaches to leadership style among middle administrators at Malaysian public universities. Abstract— The purpose of this article is to examine the level of leadership practices among middle level administrator in Malaysian public universities. Using a quantitative cross sectional survey approach, a total of 500 self-administered questionnaires were distributed by surface mail to the selected respondents, regardless of their service schemes, throughout Malaysia including Sabah and Sarawak. Stratified proportionate random sampling technique was used in determining the sampling frame. While, the Kouzer and Posner Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) was used to measure leadership practices of the group. The final response rate was 47.4% and data obtained was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 19 for windows. The findings suggested that the overall score of leadership practices among middle level administrators were of high importance. Exterior and interior design that is eye-catching will pull the customer to visit the restaurants. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between restaurant ambience and customer satisfaction in the Arabic restaurants. This study also seeks to determine which restaurant ambience elements highly influence customer satisfaction. The elements of spatial layout, interior design, color and music were measured. Quantitative data were collected from 411 respondents in Shah Alam, Selangor. It was found that color is the elements that is significantly and mostly influence customers‘ satisfaction. Hence, every organization eagerly focuses on developing work motivation among their employees. Previous studies found that the work motivation is derived from a good training program that has been implemented in an organization. Since the public complaints increased among the public service servants recently, the public organizations totally need to put high priority to organize good training program so that work motivation able to build among their employees. Islamic banking system development still depending on the conventional financial institution especially in promoting the Islamic principle to the public‘s knowledge. As for that, they put high priority to achieve a better performance in term of their efficiency and effectiveness. In order to meet 19 6 008NPCTPAG this aim, organization should focuses on developing good marketing strategy to attract more customers‘ acceptance. Islamic banking in Malaysia needs to improve their development and enhance the public‘s acceptance especially convinced the non-Muslim customers towards using Islamic principle in the financial institution. Therefore, this study attempts to propose an investigation on the determinants of customer‘s acceptance towards Islamic banking products and services in order to ensure the sustainability of Islamic law in financial institution in Malaysia. In this cross-sectional survey, a total of 86 respondents are selected as sample size to become the respondents. In this study also tried to identify the relationship between variables by using Pearson correlation as well as Descriptive statistic to analyze demographics of the respondent. EXPLORING BULLYING AT SCHOOL: NATURE AND IMPACT Izwan Abdullah , Abd. Rahim Romle, PhD , Abiha Mohd Nasir 7 009NPCTPAG ABSTRACT - For the most part, studies of the consequences of bullying in schools have concentrated upon health outcomes for children persistently bullied by their peers. Conclusions have been influenced by how bullying has been conceptualized and assessed, the specific health outcomes investigated, and the research method and data analysis employed. Results from cross-sectional surveys suggest that being victimized by peers is significantly related to comparatively low levels of psychological well-being and social adjustment and to high levels of psychological distress and adverse physical health symptoms. Retrospective reports and studies suggest that peer victimization may contribute to later difficulties with health and well-being. Longitudinal studies provide stronger support for the view that peer victimization is a significant causal factor in school children‘s lowered health and wellbeing and that the effects can be long-lasting. Further evidence from longitudinal studies indicates that the tendency to bully others at school significantly predicts subsequent antisocial and violent behaviour. This Study uses intrinsic factors as independent variables, whereas job satisfaction as a dependent variable is based on the theoretical framework of ‗two factor theory‘ of Fredrick Herzberg (1959). The study employs close-ended questions adapted and adopted from the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) and interviews were also conducted to compliment the result of the survey questions in measuring the relationship between intrinsic factors and job satisfaction among 148 academic staff of BASUG that had participated in the study. Accordingly, descriptive statistic was used in testing the data collected. The findings reveal that there is a positive and significant relationship between intrinsic factors and job satisfaction where, specifically, ‗responsibility‘, ‗work itself‘ are positively related to job satisfaction and interview responses found that staff training and library needs to be upgraded and improved in order to increase the level of job satisfaction of lecturers of Bauchi State University Gadau, Nigeria.. Objective: First objective was to identify the most common insect group that can be found in TNJER. The other objective was to determine the ecological information which can catch tourists‘ attention. Outdoor recreation operators should look after their service quality because this will contribute to the future growth and development of tourism industry in Malaysia. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of ECOSERV model to determine perceived service quality among tourist while participated in outdoor recreation program. Results: Findings for overall alpha values were satisfactory as the alpha value is closer to the high reliability value. The six dimensions identified in the questionnaire showed medium to high reliability result, ranging from α=0.79 to α=0.94, which were consistent with the range of reliability in the original ECOSERV reliability test by Khan (2003). Conclusion: This ECOSERV instrument could be used and applicable as an assessment tool to evaluate the level of service quality in outdoor recreation programs toward outdoor recreation operators. This assessment would provide valuable information for service providers to upgrade the service quality based on the six dimensions in ECOSERV that most concerned by customer, participant or tourist. The demographic factors measured by several factor consist of age group, education level and job position. The retirement has been counted as a complex and long lasting of the psychosocial process. Therefore, the generation nowadays is more willing to emphasize the setting up for retreat in the face of economic, societal and demographic compared to the older generation. Retirement planning behaviour varies among countries that produce different model of employee behaviour.
