growing critical force of
influence and affluence in
our nation today .
We are not only leaders and key
decision makers in our homes but in
business, government, educational,
community and charitable
organizations. Likewise, women
own nearly half of all privately held
businesses and publicly traded stock
and control the majority of family
financial and philanthropic decisions.
An increasing number of us today
own and use firearms and recognize
the NRA as an organization that
embodies our personal values—an
organization that understands the
importance of preserving our precious
Constitutional freedoms for ourselves,
our families and future generations.

At an event that grows larger each year,
attendees had an opportunity to bid
on amazing auction items that ranged
from high-end firearms and spectacular
trips, to unique art pieces that were
created especially for this event. Once
the luncheon began, Tom Selleck, NRA board member and
celebrated actor for over 30 years, spoke candidly about
his experiences balancing Hollywood and his personal
values. Selleck also spoke to the importance of engaging in
the protection of Second Amendment, a sentiment echoed
throughout the room.

In the spirit of honoring those fearless protectors, Brenda
Potterfield, who has fought tirelessly for the protection of
our precious Second Amendment freedoms, was awarded
the inaugural WLF Lifetime Achievement Award. This honor
could not have been bestowed on a more worthy recipient.
The luncheon and auction raised more than $1.3 million,
smashing previous fundraising records for this event! A
special thank you goes out to our sponsors, all who donated
items to the auction, and especially the attendees who
made our time together in Indianapolis such a success. With
record-breaking attendance, palpable enthusiasm, and a
united mission, this luncheon was a raving success, and has
set the stage for an even more exciting luncheon in 2015.

As such, women are more aware
of the need to become involved in
promoting, protecting and defending
our Constitutional rights, particularly
as they pertain to the Second
Amendment.
In support of these emerging efforts
Julie Woods Hill has graciously
funded the lead gift to help launch
a new Women’s Leadership Forum
Endowment.
As the endowment grows, it will
provide a dependable source of
annual funding to financially develop
and sustain critical NRA educational
and public service programs in
supporting the interests and passions
of women who care deeply about the
Second Amendment and in cultivating
the next generation of leaders.
Through these initiatives, the NRA
will continue to grow a vital, engaged
community of women who will further
shape the future of our cherished
Second Amendment.
